Um also Deine Frage zu beantworten, ja es taugt etwas. Super einfache Installation und minimaler administrativer Aufwand.

@trezzer it does, "News Downloader (RSS/Atom)" and I'm using it with mixed outcomes. Some feeds don't work but maybe I need to debug them. I mostly travel with my phone, it would be nice to have all feeds available on KOReader&phone. I just found out #feedly does NOT cache articles for offline reading - that's very disappointing for an #rssreader . Considering self-hosting #Wallabag on #cloudron

@kleinerKomet Ich habe es bei mir so geregelt: #Mirotalk mit #Cloudron Unterbau mit Ubuntu24LTS. Terminkalender via #Nextcloud und der App Apointments. WeeklyFix Termine lade ich dann via #CalDAV einfach ein und binde dort den Konferenzraum von Mirotalk ein. Bei Mirotalk kann man dann auch den Raum jeweils anpassen, ob reine Videokonferenz oder Webinar (nur ein Speaker und alle anderen sind stumm und unsichtbar). OpenSource und Freeware! #Perfekt seit drei Monaten.

I've been using #yunohost for a few months to #selfhost many apps.

Overall, I find it pretty cool for personal use.

But for more serious projects, I would feel better using #docker containers.

I've considered switching to #cloudron , but I don't see myself subscribing to a closed source software. On the long term at least.

I recently found #coolify and it looks interesting. I might give it a try.

@rosano maybe just a friendly reminder, although would be interesting to know how they figured out, that you are running n8n via #cloudron there. But it seems they didn't actually check the version to see if your deployment is vulnerable.

However, just to be sure, if you are on latest #n8n package via Cloudron you are fine.

@Sebastian Ich habe gerade 20 #Wordpress KVMs zu #Cloudron umgestrickt, weil die #Plesk Lizenzpolitik seit 2-3 Jahren ziemlich „befremdlich“ ist! Aber ansonsten kann ich Deine Beobachtung ausdrücklich betätigen!

#Praxiswissen - Ich habe aktuell sehr gute Erfahrungen mit dem Wechsel von #Plesk zu #Cloudron gemacht! Jeweils einzelne #Wordpress Instanzen aufgesetzt. Administration ist sehr übersichtlich. #Backup und das einfache Einbinden von weiteren Laufwerken (auch #s3 !) ist möglich. Nun über 20 einzelne Systeme am Laufen. Für das #Webhosting für Kunden allerdings nicht geeignet. Aber #Mastodon & Co. laufen vorbildlich. #Empfehlung für #Webmaster!

Am Ende werden die bei uns vielleicht noch 20% ihres Umsatzes bei uns haben. Ich kann es aktuell nur jedem Raten: jegliche Lizenzpreiserhöhung muss immer zu einer Alternativprüfung führen. Ansonsten werden gewisse Firmen immer gieriger. Von #Microsoft kennen wir das ja schon seit Jahrzehnten…

@deljones Hi Del thanks for your help, well what I'm curious about is how to ensure the instance can scale and support a large amount of users, especially for video calls. I've been running 2 #Nextcloud instances for years using #Hetzner Storage Share in combination with an #OnlyOffice instance run through #Yunohost. It works great but for calls involving 3+ participants a High Performance Backend is required. Is that something you've used yourself?
The 3 options I picture are:
- using Nextcloud AIO on a good VPS.
- installing NextCloud through Yunohost or #Cloudron and link to a separate HPB server.
- same as previous but with Hetzner storage share.

And to clarify, the use case is professional, with scalability and maintainability in mind. That's why I'm leaning towards #cloudron to easily add and manage other apps later on (I like the fact that every app has its own container and can be independently backed-up and restored in 2 clicks).
The HPB is somehow needed to allow video calls with more than 2 persons. Setting up a server for HPB that could be used for several Nextcloud instances is a possibility I'm considering.

As we always take our time, latest Cloudron release v8.3 is only now fully rolled out to all. Most instances would have already gotten the update as early as 2 weeks ago.
