@wraith @freshrss I agree, #RSS (or #Atom) are here to stay, as an important part of the web. I personally use #NextcloudNews as aggregator, but that's only preference. What matters is the freedom to choose what you want to consume, without any algorithm deciding for you.

Ich stelle mir ein Python-Script vor, das checkt, wenn ich innerhalb von Nextcloud News auf einen Mastodon-Link klicke und diesen dann innerhalb meiner Anmeldung hier öffnet. Also so dass ich mir den Umweg über Link kopieren, einfügen ins Suchfeld und Enter drücken, sparen kann.
Geht so was mit Python? Oder will ich da zu viel? 🤔

No wonder the RSS reader #NextcloudNews is one of the more popular Nextcloud apps!
In his article on Medium, Cory Doctorow explains why using RSS is great:

I used to run Miniflux and it was OK, if a bit minimalist. These days I prefer #NextcloudNews, although obviously that requires a #Nextcloud instance.

Was seriously looking for a replacement for Nextcloud News given it hadn't been touched in ages and had a bunch of UI bugs that made it nearly unusable for me.
And they went and dropped a new versions that fixes everything!

@at69 Leider hinken #NextcloudNews und der #DICOM Viewer regelmäßig hinterher. Macht aber keine wirklichen Probleme und, ja... schnurrt unter PHP 8.3.x auch bei mir wie'n Kätzzgen. :wink: -

#TinyTinyRSS ist nun durch #NextcloudNews ersetzt, da TTRSS immer wieder Probleme machte, Feeds konnten nicht gelesen werden etc. - bin soweit zufrieden, auch mit der offiziellen App "News".
Allerdings:
1. Ich habe keine Möglichkeit gefunden, Feed-Einträge zu filtern (bei TTRSS per Plugin möglich). Aber es gibt eine #API, die ich jetzt mit #Python ansteuere - Problem gelöst. 😃
2. In der Weboberfläche gibt es keinen #Shortcut für "als gelesen markieren und zum nächsten". Naja. 🤷♂️

Imagine you click an upgrade button to upgrade a plugin of a software and suddely… it does not work…
(So far nothing special on servers TBH), buut imagine if the reason is that *this plugin requires an 64bit OS*!
Why? Because… they want to store numbers!
