  1. Dear lazyfedi. I'd really love a feature for Miniflux to automatically sort feeds into bins of how frequently they update on average - something it must already track for POLLING_SCHEDULER = entry_frequency

(or, why are all my most interesting feeds the least frequently updated ones?; or, why aren't I sorting like this manually already, how many bins can there be really?)

  5. Hm, do I want to enable #password logins besides #SSO to my #readeck and #miniflux? It sounds icky, but seems to be the easiest way to access them from my work computer without giving it access to any other of my services 🤔

  7. Hm, now how do I fudge things around so that in my #SSO (#KaniDM) I can have two separate users, that to some services (mainly #readeck and #miniflux) appear as the same user 🤔

  9. I've had #KOReader installed on my #Kobo Clara for a while but haven't actually ever read a full book in it, mostly relying on it for the #Miniflux integration. Going to give it an earnest go while I read Mother of Learning: Arc 1 and see if there's anything here to make me prefer it over the stock reader.

  11. @kendricklmao8 I share your opinion!

Adding to this, if you are looking for a web-based #RSS reader, I highly recommend #MiniFlux 😁

  13. Finally got KOReader running on my Kindle because fuck Amazon. It is usable once more! And it has a miniflux app, so that solves the RSS reader question for me.

  16. I've spent longer today trying to come up with an algorithmic way to determine what makes me pile up unread posts in my #Miniflux #RSS reader, than I've spent actually reading this week...

  18. Might switch from feeder to "feedflow", It's cross platform and I am thinking of having miniflux/freshrss sever in the future so hmmmmmmm 🤔

Still wanna keep rss guard and Vivaldi's feeds for desktop though, that's mint.

  19. Back to writing my thoughts down. Taking the time to do actual deep dives always amazes me. What I think I had clearly thought out is actually a mess of ideas

For now I'm writing on my studying process using #miniflux and #readeck

  21. What does running #NextFlux for #MiniFlux look like? Is it simple static files, served e.g. by nginx, or is it more involved than that?

  27. ...was improving the search in #miniflux really just a matter of changing which postgresql function it uses for search??

  31. I guess this evening I've used #newsblur "in anger". I wonder if I can somewhat closely match the experience with #miniflux or #FreshRSS 🤔

  33. doesn’t allow you to subscribe to resources on the same local network by default. Clever. I’d never thought about that kind of attack vector.

  35. Currently giving #Miniflux a try as possible replacement for feedbin. Don't get me wrong! Feedbin is great but it's time to move certain things to self-hosted solutions.

  36. Huh, I found an #RSS feed that works in #MiniFlux and #FreshRSS, but doesn't seem to in self-hosted #newsblur 🤔

  37. @megabyteghost

#Miniflux server that a friend hosts, combined with #Newsboat on the terminal and #CapyReader on Android.

Oh, and the web interface itself is great. Very basic/brutalistic and fast.

  38. @RareBird15 I use #Miniflux: miniflux.app. It's a web based fully accessible reader, it can be self-hosted, or you can pay $15 (14 euro) a year to use the instance the developer maintains, or you can use, for example, use some free Miniflux instance (Tweesecake used to have one but now it's not working for some reason). As for managing feeds, I categorize them. I also add podcasts because I don't like listening to podcasts in dedicated apps, I need my file that I post-process (increase speed, sometimes cut off intros-outros, sometimes raise volume).
