It is incredibly frustrating how much local concert information gets locked inside the Instagram. To help fix this, I’ve added an open, accessible `/events` section to my site to track, archive, and share live music happening around #İzmir.
All data is fetched from @musicbrainz. The goal is to make upcoming gigs discoverable for the community and preserve the history of past shows, making sure to fully credit everyone involved.
You don’t need an account to see it, and it includes venue maps, photo galleries, and subscribe-able Webcal, Atom, and JSON feeds.
I’ll drop some example entries in the replies to show off the gallery feature!

Потыкайте в #musicbrainz и в прочие такие, плз. У меня нет варианта проверить доступность, т.к. нахожусь не в России.
Нужно составить список кто из open source умудрился поучаствовать в блокировках, чтоб больше не использовать эти сервисы. -

Ok, I have an old track downloaded at some point in 2007, I'm not sure from where but it was probably (the original) mp3.com. #MusicBrainz came up with nothing, so this is obscure stuff. It's an #industrialmetal track from the #00s and I'd like to know the name of the artist. Maybe they're still making music. I hope so. If you know who this is, let me know.
I have more tracks with just names that I'd like to identify, but I won't spam with them. I'll post another soon though.

I just obtained the disc Endtroducing... (2005), which is the digital deluxe version of Endtroducing..... (1996). Now I have a conundrum about tagging it. I could tag disc 1 as Endtroducing..... (1996) and the second as Endtroducing... (2005), but they'd be shown as separate albums. I could use Endtroducing... (2005) for both, it's correct but feels wrong as the tracks on disc 1 are from 1996. I could have Endtroducing... for both but different years which is a mess.

Comme peut-être on irait trouver dans un commerce quelque chose qu'on ne retrouve pas chez soi, on se repose sur des plateformes web.
Sur nos appareils je pense qu'on ne retrouve pas des musiques, vidéos et documents car la métadonnée n'est pas bien renseignée (titre, sujet, mots-clés, etc).
J'aimerais un outil d'ordi et d'ordiphone qui, aux heures les moins chargées, nous propose de renseigner cette métadonnée.

I've moved my Internet Archive Metadata plugin for Picard out into its own repo and updated it to work with Picard v3 alpha 3. Probably limited enough in functionality that it's not useful to anyone but me (since the metadata on IA is pretty freeform and it likely only really works with the specific tracks I wrote it to help sort), but if you want to load Internet Archive meta.xml files as metadata in Picard, this may be a good starting place:

I have this now ancient Philips DVD burner from 15+ years ago that I still use for ripping cds. So reliable.
A shout out to the #Discovery app in #KDEPlasma which does such a great job, and pulls in music tags from #MusicBrainz.
I like #FinAmp too, although I now mostly keep my music collection locally on my phone as #ogg files, and use #Phocid.
Well, all I can say is that I never have a streaming issue when traveling. 🤣

I want to find a solution to scrobble vinyl listens to ListenBrainz. I’m imagining a raspberry pi with a microphone near a speaker that listens to track and identifies it through MusicBrainz and then submits the track to ListenBrainz. Or, I could get something with a barcode scanner and scan the barcode on the record sleeve and it would submit the record. Hmm… #ListenBrainz #scrobbling #MusicBrainz
