CapCut Pad llega a tablets Android con edición nivel escritorio y gratis
Tras meses de esperar mientras los usuarios de iPad disfrutaban de la versión optimizada, CapCut lanzó oficialmente su app para tablets Android. Ofrece línea de tiempo multitrack, chroma key, animación por keyframes y exportación en 4K a 60fps, con todas las funciones premium desbloqueadas sin costo por tiempo limitado.
Los creadores de contenido que editan desde una tablet Android vivían resignados a usar una versión del teléfono simplemente ampliada a una pantalla más grande. Eso cambió. CapCut lanzó oficialmente CapCut Pad para tablets Android, una app rediseñada desde cero que promete una experiencia de edición a nivel escritorio con soporte para animación por keyframes, herramientas de edición con IA y una extensa biblioteca de recursos.
La versión para tablet ya estaba disponible en iPad desde diciembre de 2025, y recién ahora se expande al ecosistema Android. La diferencia respecto a la app de teléfono es tangible desde el primer uso: el cambio clave es la interfaz en sí. Con un espacio de trabajo más amplio y un diseño reorganizado, CapCut Pad da más lugar para líneas de tiempo, bandejas de medios y controles de edición, lo que facilita los montajes en capas múltiples sobre la pantalla de una tablet.
El listado de funciones es extenso y apunta directamente a creadores serios. La app incluye edición multitrack con timeline preciso, chroma key para eliminar colores específicos, estabilización de video, animación por keyframes y cámara lenta fluida con optical flow y curvas de velocidad. A eso se suma sincronización entre dispositivos: se puede empezar a editar en el teléfono, continuar en la computadora y terminar en la tablet, con soporte para exportar en hasta 4K a 60fps con HDR.
En cuanto al precio, la estrategia de lanzamiento es generosa pero acotada en el tiempo. La app está disponible gratis en la Play Store y por tiempo limitado la compañía desbloqueó todas sus funciones sin requerir suscripción. Esto incluye filtros, efectos, música y todo el catálogo de herramientas avanzadas. Sin embargo, como en la versión móvil, algunas funciones podrían quedar detrás de una suscripción más adelante, con planes que arrancan desde aproximadamente 10 dólares por mes.
Para los creadores de contenido que ya usan CapCut en su teléfono, la transición a la versión Pad será inmediata y familiar. Para quienes buscaban una herramienta de edición profesional en su tablet Android sin pagar por software de escritorio, la ventana gratuita que abrió CapCut es una oportunidad que conviene aprovechar antes de que cierre.

Update: problem solved without having to remove the shadows.
Instead of a chroma key, I set the background of my screen to pure black (#000000) and I’m using Luma key. Works beautifully with everything I’ve thrown at it so far in both light and dark mode.
Looking forward to documenting my setup after I finally record that video about Kitten’s new introspection API for the Kitten Shell (REPL).
Yak’s shaved along the way:
• Completely took apart my setup down to every wire and reconfigured it.
• Spring cleaned the whole office.
• Updated my recording/streaming process.:awesome:👍

It's basically what Disney used to have actors in front of animated backgrounds in Mary Poppins (1964). The process allows you to composite half-transparent things that traditional chroma keying like greenscreen and bluescreen struggle with, e.g. glass, water, veils, hair and motion blur, with minimal to no visible artifacts.

Two nights ago, I finally got to meet a Japanese friend who I’ve known online for more than 23 years.
We ran fan sites for Kevin Moore (former keyboardist of Dream Theater) and his band Chroma Key and first chatted via ICQ, but neither of us can remember the exact details! 😅
It was so great to meet face to face after all this time!
Also it snowed, which was a delight (but bad for recovery efforts in the earthquake areas 😕)

Very nice! My new #GreenScreen works well. About 60 USD, comes with two supporting tripods, extensible metal bars, and of course the green screen cloth itself. It fills my entire living room lol.
Adjusting it with my Microsoft #LifeCam HD-3000 and adding the #ChromaKey filter in #OBSStudio with Similarity 470, Smoothness 30 and Key Color Spill Reduction 10 gets some nice results, I don't mind the little white outline/contour. What I need now is better lighting, my ring light works well for my face but my green screen does not get great lighting. Thankfully my computer is positioned directly against the door, where the sun shines through easily in the morning, so that should help.
Even without proper lighting it works great when framing the source over a dark background, though. 💚
