one thing I do admire on #esc is the level of technology, design and art that is shown in stage lighting and sound.

Interesting internet behavior. It seems that if you search Mika Newton on YouTube right now the fifth video is Loreen's grand final in #Eurovision from last night. I did this in incognito mode without logging in.
Here is a good example video of even visual similarities in the extracted vocal tracks in the two songs linked on Helsingin Sanomat today:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zb9DlvgHuwI
I wonder how many comments does a YouTube video need to pop up in unrelated search like this?

#Yleisradio is broadcasting #Käärijä's arrival to #Finland live.
His plane has already landed, and there are hunderds of people in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport waiting for him and the team.
There will be a press meeting, too, which will be aired.
Can be seen outside of Finland, too.

Just wanted to say from the day after #Eurovision #Eurovision2023 #eurovision23:
* Finland was indeed robbed
* A massive thank you to to every server admin on the #Fediverse who tried to keep their server going under the tsunami wave of posts about Eurovision - whether your server was #Mastodon, #Calckey, #Pixelfed, #Friendica, etc. You all did a fantastic job on the night, no matter the result. I would like to think everyone cannot thank you enough.
* Seeing everyone participate in Eurovision on the Fediverse was spectacular. I've never seen so much excitement and chatter before. I felt like I was part of a wholesome community - something I've longed for in other social media platforms, but never truly got with all the anger, aggression, and trolling. None of that was here, and it made the Fediverse absolutely beautiful! ❤️ -
The best thing about this year's #Eurovision2023 #eurovision #eurovision23 was these two #bff #finland #slovenia 🇫🇮❤️🇸🇮 #chachacha

In the #Eurovision final, the public vote in 18 countries gave #Käärijä / #Finland the 12 points where as #Loreen / #Sweden didn't got the full 12 points from any country.

The official US Eurovision stream is using automatic captioning and its interpretation of non-English is... something. Banana penicillin, indeed.

Over the birdsite a highly appreiciated Finnish academic - not in #ESC or #music - but in political science and terrorism (!) - #LeenaMalkki has made a TOP 50-list about all the things that happened during the last weeks in #Finland as the #Käärijä-fever got higher and higher.
Here's a Nitter-link to her list, worth to check!

Continuing the #FinlandWasRobbed -theme.
The semifinal results have been declared:
1. #Finland 177 points
2. #Sweden 135 points
3. #Israel 127 points
And as we know, this was purely the public vote.
So yes, #Käärijä was robbed by the juries in the final.

Well I enjoyed that enormously. There were easily 10 songs I'd have been quite happy to see win. There was a lot of love for Finland but Loreen is a heck of a force.

Finland should’ve won.

Mira, no es que sea muy de Alemania en general, pero me voy a quemar unos coches por el feo que le han hecho.

Disappointed in the #eurovision23 result, but especially in the voting procedure. It does not work well, it is intransparent and it does not consider the audience preferences enough. Ever since the EBU introduced the jury voting, they've not found a good modus to find the winner.
-
Disappointed that #Sweden won with this song and performance...
#eurovision #eurovision23 #ghastlynails -
#Finland was absolutely robbed. #Sweden was okay, but their song won't be the one I'm sending to everyone I know. Finland smashed it, and they deserved to win. #myopinion #eurovision #eurovision23 #chachacha

@AlisonW Right??? Me, too - Globalism is nice in a lot of ways, but it's lovely to hear the juries' languages. #eurovision #eurovision23
-
Can't wait for the viewer voting. Sweden was good, but I have a feeling the viewers will disagree with the juries and swing the vote. #eurovision #eurovision23
-
Sweden Sweden Sweden Sweden? Puzzled.

I've been watching #eurovision for years, but I'll be damned if I understand the scoring.
Do they not give 9 or 11 points? What's the reason for that? #eurovision23

Oh No, Sweden was imo terrible
