  1. Did you know you can track your vote-by-mail ballot every step of the way? Follow your ballot from when it’s mailed to when it’s counted at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov

P.S. Not registered to vote yet? It’s not too late to register online at registertovote.ca.gov/

  2. Voters' Lists

Voters' lists are impossible to attain 100% accuracy. Errors from the poll workers are possible.

When inaccuracies are made known, the election loses credibility------even if the errors are small in number.

TDG elections will not have these issues:

  3. #Hypocrisy

#Trump has cast another #mail #ballot in #Florida as he continues to publicly bash the voting method as a source of “fraud” & push #Congress to curtail the practice.

Palm Beach County voter records show Trump voted by mail in a Tuesday special #election for state legislative seats & his ballot has been counted. Early in-person voting in the contest ran through Sunday, when Trump was still at his south Florida estate.

  4. @davoyager

the #Democrats do suck. it's not just #Fetterman. many go "aw shucks" and then speak for their special interest donors instead of the people

    but

    the Dems are also #AOC, #Mamdani, #Talarico, #Warren, etc

    so

we show up in the #primaries and get 50 Mamdanis on the #ballot for the November #election

if instead someone goes "Fetterman exists, therefore all Dems are the same as the #GOP" they are #trollfarm from the right working a divide and conquer angle, or they are a moron

  5. A quotation from Ambrose Bierce

BALLOT, n. A simple device by which a majority proves to a minority the folly of resistance. Many worthy persons of imperfect thinking apparatus believe that majorities govern through some inherent right; and minorities submit, not because they must, but because they ought.

Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914?) American writer and journalist

  9. A quotation from Franklin Roosevelt

Let us not be afraid to help each other — let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and Senators and Congressmen and Government officials but the voters of this country.

  15. Rarely does the mere filing of a #ballot #initiative scramble politics in California.

But the "#Billionaires #Tax" proposal is suddenly dominating the discourse
as proponents collect signatures to place it on the November ballot
    — and wealthy residents, like Google co-founders
    Larry #Page and Sergey #Brin,
move their assets out of the state rather than wait to see if it will pass.

The idea of taxing billionaires’ total assets
    — a more aggressive idea than the income taxes California already levies on high earners
    — has long captivated the left,
galvanizing labor and shaping presidential politics.

    But now that
    SEIU-UHW,
a union representing more than 100,000 health care workers,
has pushed the idea closer to reality than ever before,
California is getting a vivid glimpse of just how politically explosive the proposal is
and, for supporters, how high the stakes are for getting it right

The fight has reignited a struggle over the Democratic Party’s economic agenda in the runup to the 2028 presidential contest,
-- drawing vehement denunciations from Governor #Newsom and prominent Democratic donors like Reid #Hoffman

-- while being embraced by progressives like Ro #Khanna,
who represents Silicon Valley and is also mulling a presidential run.

Sen. Bernie #Sanders called it “a model that should be emulated throughout the country.”

“This isn’t radical. This is fairly simple. We live in the wealthiest country in the world and people are struggling,”
Liz #Perlman, executive director of AFSCME 3299, said on a call this week in which unions and progressive groups from around the country trumpeted higher taxes in all 50 states.

But beyond Perlman, the unions on that call did not necessarily embrace a wealth tax. And even Democrats championing populist economic messages are treading cautiously on this particular wealth tax proposal.

California Sen. Adam #Schiff, for example, signed onto a letter this week encouraging Democrats to “demonstrate a real willingness to take on corporate power and the billionaires” in advance of the midterms.

But Schiff has not yet taken a position on the proposal roiling politics in his home state.

  24. What a surprise. The #USPS has changed the rules for the #postmark date of mail. As of last Wednesday, December 24, the postmark date is the day they #process the mail piece, NOT the day you drop it off. If you do #VBM, try to find a secure #dropbox. If you can’t, put your #ballot in the mail far ahead of time or, if you can, take it to the #postoffice and have the agent there #postmark it in front of you. #votersuppression

  25. Elections at the Higher TDG Tiers

Actually, these elections will be quite easy to conduct. Simple rules. Few voters. Paper ballots. Quick counting. Easy to verify.

  26. Still thinking about how nearly 90% of the approximately 1 million people who voted in my county last month voted with their mail-in ballots. Not only does that strengthen #democracy by increasing access and shielding voters from intimidation or worse by federal officers—think of the savings arising from the greatly reduced need for polling places staffed by humans. Win-win-win.

  27. This is why I love #California.

The Orange County Registrar's office published these stats this week:

Of 999,918 ballots cast by voters [in Orange County in Nov 2025] and counted, 88.2% of voters cast a Vote-By-Mail ballot and 11.8% cast an in-person ballot at one of 66 #Vote Centers throughout the county.

Overall turnout was about 50%, not terrible for an off-cycle #election with only a single question on the ballot. Every voter in California receives a #ballot they can return in the mail or via a drop box. That's 23 MILLION ballots, voter information guides, reminder postcards. . . an amazing feat of organization and logistics.

And the results are undeniable. The success and popularity of Vote-By-Mail is undeniable. Vote-By-Mail offers accessibility to people with disabilities; to minorities fearing kidnap and possible murder at the hands of #ICE; and to any voter who simply prefers to sit at their kitchen table, make their choices, and send off their ballots. 1/

  28. TDG Elections at the Higher Tiers

These election would be easier to conduct than the neighborhood elections.

The ballots will speak clearly who governs us.
