🚌⚡🇭🇰 #UK bus manufacturer Wrightbus has secured its first global order for the new 6x2 StreetDeck Electroliner double-decker, with #HongKong operator #Citybus ordering 20 vehicles in a deal worth £7m. The zero-emission buses, due for delivery in 2027, will be built at Wrightbus’s #Malaysia facility to support its expanding Asia Pacific operations. The 12-metre buses seat 82 passengers, carry up to 130 people and have a range of up to 300km. Wrightbus said the order marks a major milestone as it expands internationally following the success of the StreetDeck in the UK. Citybus selected the company through an open tender process assessing technical capability and value. Wrightbus employs more than 2,300 people across Northern #Ireland, #Germany and Malaysia.

#Citybus is launching a new express Route 580 in #HongKong from 29th March 2025, connecting Shatin Central to GO PARK Sai Sha in just 30 minutes. Initially operating on weekends and public holidays, the route enhances the Ma On Shan/Sai Sha network. Route 580 will offer direct links from three key railway stations: Shatin, University, and Ma On Shan, making travel more efficient for residents and visitors. And once again I saw something odd for the #WeirdCarMastodon crowd during one of my bicycle tours: A small old and very boxy #Steyr #Citybus with just one pair of doors used by the city of Lindau as environmental information vehicle as it's labelled "um🌍mobil".
