  1. Anyone want to go for a bike ride around town? Or Myra? Or the rail trail?

Early morning or late evening when the temperature isn't in the 30s? #Okanagan #Bike #Kelowna

  3. New #Bansuris will be here tomorrow. I really wish I could learn in person with someone, but I'd rather not live in some cave like I've heard some people have had to do to get proper teachings from a guru... LOL. Sorry, that was kind of a low blow. Wish there were someone local in #Kelowna that taught bansuri. So many people from India though. I'm going to learn what I can of Hindi for the present. Probably Punjabi later, as well as Urdu. Might look into Bengali.

  4. Power generation from my solar roof panels today. Nice sunny day. Generated 52.84 kWh of electricity between 5:25 and 20:40. My average use is between 10 and 20 kWh per day. So I'm generating more electricity than I use.

BC Hydro charges $0.1172 / kWh at tier 1, and $0.1408 at tier 2. I don't know at what rate BC Hydro buys back the excess electricity my roof panels are producing. Let's say it is tier 1: 52.84 kWh * $0.1172 / kWh = $6.19 per day. That's $185 for the month of June?

I haven't received a bill yet since this was installed a few weeks ago, so I really don't know how this works. Purely guessing at this point. #SolarPower #Okanagan #Kelowna

  5. Near my home is a beach that is off-limit to anyone who isn't of "First Nations" ancestry. The sign out front says "Westbank First Nation Private Beach".

What would people say if we had a beach that said "White People Private Beach", or "First Nations Not Permitted"?

Recall that in BC, beach property belongs to the Crown. The rules are:

    1) Land Boundary: Private property stops at the natural boundary, the average high-water mark.

    2) Foreshore: The sandy, rocky, or wet area between high- and low-water marks is called foreshore. In BC, foreshore is owned by the Crown.

    3) The public has a bare license to walk, pass, and recreate on the foreshore. You cannot legally put up fences to block people from walking along the beach. #BC #Okanagan #Kelowna

  6. I enjoyed a quick trip to Canada last week.

You can enjoy a trip report of my plane ride. Warning - the trip report is almost as long as the plane ride it describes.

Not included - an afternoon with @mijustin which was very good.
