Regardless of the forecast, it is still sunshine, blue sky, and 33°C outside. I'm starting to think these forecasts are for a parallel universe where they have addressed climate change.
Cannot believe I'm disappointed we have nice hot summer weather, and I'm hoping for rain. We're desperate for some relief.
Saturday night is the only night where I'm allowed to water the lawn and the flowers. I left the system turned on for tonight, because I don't believe we'll actually get rain.

Red sky at night, red sky in the morning, not certain what it used to mean. One of them was a sailor's delight.
But nowadays it means I'm in the middle of forest wildfire season and the sky is full of smoke.

(0.5 mm is approximately the thickness of a business card or a guitar pick.)
I suspect the 60% chance of rain in the forecast for next weekend will change to 0% in the next few days.

Wasn't sure if I should post this one for some reason. I pulled over at the side of the highway to take it, thinking it might show the darkness and smoke we've been experiencing.
It was taken at 18:29 today, 2026-08-10. Looking at Hwy #97 in West Kelowna, BC, facing south-west towards Peachland and the Bald Range wildfire. A light breeze briefly pushed the smoke aside in the distance, allowing a bit of the sky to show. The darkness we see in the sky is not a cloud, but smoke from the fire.

We've been at "stage 3" water restrictions for a while now due to the hot, dry weather. No rain for several months.
My lawn is dried up yellow grass. It sounds like rice krispies when I walk on it.
Only good thing is I don't have to mow. And presumably my water bill will be much lower at the end of summer. #Okanagan #WestKelowna

Already had a couple of weeks of temperatures in the low to mid 30s °C (low to mid 90s °F). Looks like more of the same for this upcoming week.
