  2. Weird idea to stop #waste, #fraud, and, #abuse of #taxpayer #money.

If a #corporation's #employees qualify for #government #assistance, the corporation is required to #reimburse the assistance #program for #benefits disbursed, plus an additional percentage to cover the #cost of overhead and collection of money owed.

This would apply to employees working 30+ hours/week or who work any number of hours while holding multiple jobs.

I love my neighbors, but my #tax dollars should not be subsidizing #corporate #profit.

"So basically the developers of a dead horse who shunned reusability ♻️ still need more tax payers’ money to make their business case work. Even ‘commercial’ launches such as for the #Amazon constellation are reported to be costing the #taxpayer 32 mil. per launch*"

  5. The most-common jobs in Ohio don’t pay enough to meet expenses, report says

Ohio jobs pay so poorly than median wages for 84.5% won’t cover the cost of living if that worker is the sole earner in a family of three.

  6. #Drumpf admin rewarding #energy contractors with massive #taxpayer payouts to drop #windmill projects.

#Drumpf admin vowed on Wednesday to pay $765 million to a power project developer #Invenergy to abandon planned #windmill projects off the coastal states of New York, #California and #Maine and convert resources to developing natural gas power plants in five landlocked Midwest states.

Seven U.S. states sued the admin this month over a similar $800 million payment to #TotalEnergies TTEF.PA to cancel an east coast offshore wind project. The state AG's suing the #ExecBranch allege payments are not proper #USA govt process and illegally misuse fund$ reserved for legal settlements when there was no actual #litigation.

  7. He's going to pay his #maga #insurrectionists out of his new #AntiWeaponizationFund using #taxpayer #money.

But he's not paying them for the #Jan6 storming of the #US #Capitol back in 2021.

This is the down payment for storming the Capitol immediately after the November #Midterm #Elections *this* year.

He's paying people to come back and finish the job they started five years ago.

  10. The cost of our all hands on deck heroic rescue of the US service man trapped in #Iran looks to be well over $250 million dollars, and if you include the first lost #aircraft, as well as those lost in the rescue, it could be far more.

A random value estimate of the US #AirForce’s MC-130Js left destroyed In Iran Is around $100 Million each....Rather than risk capture by Iranian forces, the #Pentagon made the decision to destroy multiple US aircraft in place.

The cost of smaller aircraft left smoldering on the makeshift desert airfield in Iraq estimate to be about $2 million each...

#CBS reported a congressional briefing where one official called it a “fair guess” that the daily #USA #taxpayer cost of #DJT military "intervention" in Iraq is costing well over $1.5 billion.

  11. @riggbeck @MichaelEMann @ZLabe @RARohde @rahmstorf @davidho @GeraldKutney #TotalEnergies is basically a #fossilfuel company, & I'm quite sure they wouldn't mind making money out of the #American #taxpayer in the least, nor will they be in any way averse to exploiting Donald Trump's extraordinary allergy to any form of #renewableenergy. Their agreeing to the contract is an exercise in cynicism.

  12. 🔥The US government-funded a ‘private social network’ which posts personal attacks on pesticide critics 🔥

In 2017, two United Nations experts called for a treaty to strictly #regulate #dangerous #pesticides, which they said were a “global human rights concern”, citing scientific research showing pesticides can cause cancers, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and other health problems.

Publicly, the pesticide industry’s lead trade association dubbed the recommendations “unfounded and sensational assertions”.
👉 In private, industry advocates have gone further.👈

⚠️Derogatory profiles of the two UN experts, Hilal Elver and Baskut Tuncak, are hosted on an online private portal for pesticide company employees and a range of influential allies.

Members can access a wide range of #personal #information about hundreds of individuals from around the world deemed a threat to industry interests,
including the US food writers Michael #Pollan and Mark #Bittman, the Indian environmentalist Vandana #Shiva and the Nigerian activist Nnimmo #Bassey.

🆘 Many profiles include #personal #details such as the names of family members, phone numbers, home addresses and even house values.

The profiling is part of an effort – that was
    💥financed, in part, by #US #taxpayer #dollars
    – to #downplay pesticide dangers, #discredit opponents and #undermine international policymaking, according to court records, emails and other documents obtained by the non-profit newsroom Lighthouse Reports
