🧵 This yellow paper was dyed with an extremely stinky plant dye from our museum garden (Rubia tinctorum: never again! Smelled like an animal corpse).
And you can clearly see that I waited for a hospital appointment to find out if my meniscus has been exploded. Luckily, it’s still sitting nicely in place, I'm not a corpse yet, and I’ve gained a new page for my project! 🤭 😁

#sketchbook April 2026. take some acrylic paint, work it into a few surfaces, scan them all and start merging them through pixel surgery. Take the composite and run it through a custom sobel edge detection filter, print the output on Bristol grade paper, start adding fresh gouache paint. Repeat as needed... #art #artprocess

I think I might really love doing abstract works. It’s so different than my other works & yet the same.
In any event, I like the way I paint and approach the art more. I consider it more. I find it more relaxing. I don’t need to find reference as it’s from my imagination. I can explore surprises that I like. I can be less autistically literal, and more adhd explorative.
I am excited about this work.
It feels unexpected of me even to me.
