I'm not sure whether to tag this photo with #Mosstodon or #Lichensubscribe so opted for both.
Loved spotting these "2D trees" growing on the trunk we had chosen to picnic alongside in the Chilterns today.
It occurred to me that, if something like this appeared on my skin, I would quickly seek out the appropriate anti-fungal to eradicate it. The tree is less paranoid, or has fewer options. Or maybe obtains benefit from this relationship.
