Até então vendida como uma sátira metalinguística sobre Hollywood, a produção agora assume de vez sua natureza super-heroica ao confirmar que o protagonista vivido por Yahya Abdul-Mateen II é, de fato, um indivíduo com habilidades extraordinárias e uma potencial ameaça aos olhos do governo.

A nova prévia estabelece que Simon, um ator frustrado em busca de reconhecimento, tenta esconder sua verdadeira natureza para conquistar o papel principal no reboot fictício de Wonder Man. No entanto, a pressão emocional e profissional faz com que seus poderes comecem a emergir de forma descontrolada. Esse despertar chama a atenção do Departamento de Controle de Danos (DODC), organização já conhecida pelos fãs por aparições em Homem-Aranha: De Volta ao Lar e Homem-Aranha: Sem Volta para Casa. No trailer, o agente P. Cleary, interpretado por Arian Moayed, é categórico ao afirmar que Simon Williams representa uma “ameaça extraordinária”.
