My biggest takeaway from traveling for a month with an #Aranet4 to monitor CO2 levels as a proxy for #covid risk, is that air conditioning gives you a false sense of security.
I was on a packed subway train that was stuck for 20 mins, and while the train was stopped with the doors open, the CO2 levels didn't go above 700ppm, despite feeling hot and stuffy. When the doors closed and the AC kicked in, the CO2 levels tripled, despite feeling like there was much more ventilation.

Really happy with the ventilation at #Drupalcon! CO2 levels in the sessions have been barely above the baseline outdoors. Look at how much lower the levels were when giving my session compared when I was sleeping overnight alone in a room.

Oh look, it’s only 90.8°F during the winter. Totally normal for the San Francisco Bay Area. And why is the CO2 reading 100 ppm higher than normal for outdoors?

My #Aranet4 was in the pocket, so I tried that app. It was out of range. We went up to the running car, and caught the attention of the driver after a bit. -
Ich war am Wochenende im Theater. Es war sehr schön. Diesmal hab ich daran gedacht, den Aranet CO2-Sensor nicht an der Garderobe abzugeben sondern in den Saal mitzunehmen.
Das Maximum zu Beginn der Vorstellung im Publikum waren 5.693 ppm. Der Wert war während meines gesamten Aufenthalts im Gebäude nie unter 2.800 ppm.
Das ist halt ein bisschen ungesund. Und auch schade, wenn sich das Publikum schlechter konzentrieren kann und immer wieder ein Gähnen unterdrücken muss.

The cold wind in #Portland has made it completely impractical to meet people and eat outside. Luckily, I've finally gotten an #Aranet4, so I can eat inside while at least some assurance that there is proper ventilation. I met a friend at #TheHeist yesterday and the CO2 levels in the big sparsely-populated space weren't much higher than outdoors!

Dīvaini, ka Aranet4 var glabāt tikai 7 dienu vēsturi iekārtā (ar 2 minūšu intervālu) un 30 dienu vēsturi telefona aplikācijā.
Tie dati taču nekādu vietu neaizņem.Vai arī nav uztaisījuši pietiekami ātru to datu apstrādi un ierobežojums ir tāpēc, lai to nemanītu?

TIL you can use #Shelly devices to use #bluetooth in #HomeAssistant - so i don't even need to get a bluetooth adaptor to integrate my #Aranet4 sensors. Amazing!

Très bons prix sur cette référence de la mesure de qualité de l'air, ici CO2 – pour faire gaffe au covid et autres saletés aéroportées – humidité relative, température et pression atmosphérique. (à l'époque j'avais payé le mien pratiquement le double) :

One being the Alpstuga, an air quality sensor, reportedly measures CO2, at £25 though, will that be a true CO2 measurement? i.e. using an NDIR sensor.
My #Aranet4 is possibly the best sensor I've added to #HomeAssistant in recent years.

Nach 683 Tagen ununterbrochenen Betriebs ist es soweit: die beiden AA-Batterien meines #aranet4-CO₂-Messgerätes sind leer.
Ich hab ja viel erwartet, und ein Jahr Laufzeit hat mich schon sehr beeindruckt — aber ein Jahr und mehr als zehn Monate, das ist krass.
Chapeau an die Letten, das nenne ich solide Ingenieurskunst! 👍
