Fascinating idea, though I can’t help but think it would just become some sort of attack vector of its own.
Also given the push towards immutable distros (which is a good and cool idea) I’d be very curious how this could actually be implemented.

@heinelo das kann ich gut nachvollziehen, allerdings würde ich auch ins Feld führen, daß #macos im Kern auch ein linuixes System ist und von daher so genutzt werden kann.
In der graphischen Industrie sind #adobe Produkte einfach nicht weg zu denken. Deswegen verwende ich meine #mac Rechner eher wie #opensource Plattformen. Installationen werden mit #shellscripting erledigt und Programme mit #homebrew installiert.
Ich verwende keine AppleIDs, eigene Clouds, Aressbücher, Kalender und einen eigenen Mailserver bei Kunden und bei mir selbst.
So finde ich ist ein #macos ein unabhängiges System, welches auch keinem #killswitch ausgesetzt sein wird, denn sollte sich Apple dazu entscheiden keine Updates mehr zu liefern – was ich nicht glaube – dann installiere ich mir auf den Geräten #Linux, was ich eh schon mit meinen alten #apple Rechnern gemacht habe. -

Mein Problem mit #KI nichteuropäischer #Konzerne ist einerseits die Verschwendung von #Energie & #Wasser für #Botshit, aber eben auch #Sicherheit & #Datenschutz. Wie @pallenberg auf #MeTacheles sehe ich die konkrete Gefahr, dass auch sensible #Daten in die #USA abfließen und unsere #Infrastruktur mit einem #KillSwitch versehen wird. To allow network printing in you local area network (LAN) when using a VPN just set the preferences - connection to allow LAN connections (at least in MacOS Ventura). But then apparently you cannot have a #killswitch
Anyone have a vpn where this works properly i.e. killswitch and LAN printing... can't be such an unusual requirement.

- A fully #encrypted #filesystem, with optional support for hardware key (like #solokey, or #nitrokey) #decryption
++Not sure about hw key, but encrypted fs is relatively easy on most Linux distros
- NO #Fingerprint Scanner or #Biometrics at all
++#pinephone doesn't have that at all
- #NFC that can only be toggled on temporarily, and automatically shuts off after X amount of time
++Probably a feature to be released in the near future
- #Bluetooth 5+ with #A2DP; #AptX and #BLE with a more security focused method of #authentication
++From the wiki "Bluetooth: 4.0, A2DP"; could probably swap it out though.
- All internet connections routed through @torproject (or something similar), with a #killswitch if the connection is dropped
++Maybe configure a distro to do so? I know there's various killswitches on the back.
- Privacy focused #browser with something like #SSL Everywhere; #WebRTC and JS disabled by default, with easy toggle for "trusted" websites, which would allow JS and Video etc
++Never tried this specific setup myself-ill have to give it a go.

I was thinking about my post about a week ago, re. the #FreedomPhone (see the link below).
It got me wondering - What would I actually want in a #Freedom and #Privacy respecting #phone?
Maybe things like:
