Yesterday we got a taste of the #WildFire #Smoke when numbers got as high as 180.
The winds have shifted in our favor and here in #CoosBay along the coast numbers are under 100.
My brother lives in Salem and it was over 200 yesterday and still high today.
I'm keeping the air filter running even at these numbers.

Here in #CoosBay Oregon, we are getting 10 hours and 10 minutes of light today. When chatting with a friend in Santa Fe New Mexico about the time switch I noticed that they are far enough south to get 28 more minutes of light than us.

The drive down 101 was foggy, marine layer haze all along the coast, had to use my fog wipers

Life on the #OregonCoast is usually cooler than the inland areas, but this is even cooler than usual.
Been sunny and low 60s the last few weeks.
My sympathies for those suffering from heat and humidity this week

Went for my first real ride of the year
Several miles down the south beach road out to a park in a nice cove
I needed some groceries so after hanging out at the beach I stopped at the village market out there for supplies
Used all three luggage boxes and had room to spare!
My long goat beard blows into a fork in the wind!
I need someone to video me riding by so I can see it flying in the breeze!

Rare freeze warning here on the Oregon coast, I actually turned the furnace on set to 52 and set the faucets to drip. The furnace has been off for months. I just use a space heater in my upstairs flat this time of year.
Just put heat on in the camper too. I brought up one of those oil filled radiator type space heaters from the shop today but hadn't plugged it in until just now.
Currently 35F with lows expected to be around 30

Gantenbein’s Coos Bay-located company — Whit Industries — is a local go-to for hydraulics installation and repairs. In recent years, Whit Industries has received a quarter of a million dollars in public contracts from the Port of Coos Bay and other local entities. But Gantenbein isn’t just a hardworking blue-collar business guy. He’s also an active neo-Nazi using his company’s resources to promote hate. One example is Whit Industries’ recruiting of white supremacists to the Coos Bay area — one of Gantenbein’s newest employees is an alleged pedophile from Salem.
On September 21, 2024, Gantenbein was identified by Corvallis Antifa as a leader of the Oregon chapter of White Lives Matter, a national Neo-Nazi organization. Designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, White Lives Matter Oregon (WLM-OR) is primarily organized through Telegram, a Russian messaging app commonly used by white supremacists because it lacks moderation. LCRW reviewed Telegram chat logs obtained by Corvallis Antifa, gaining insight into how the group functions.
