  1. I took a pretty walk around Yaquina Head this morning. I slept in, but still went early enough that it wasn’t crowded when I got there, though it was getting busier by the time I left. The trick to lose the crowds is to climb the steep paths. I stopped at the top of Communication Hill for a while to watch surfers catching waves. You can see them in the water at the bottom of the picture looking south, if you look closely. #oregoncoast #newportoregon

  2. Additions coming to the Seavy Co. Kickstarter. More stretch goals (since we hit all of them) & another novel! See the covers here. These will all be on the Kickstarter by tomorrow.

  3. It’s really hard to get a picture of our Aussie looking happy, but I guarantee that she was having fun on the beach. Our Corgi tired himself out running up, down, and around all the dunes. We practiced a lot of recall to keep him away from the plethora of dead birds. Too many bird remains on the beach this year, with a local caution about avian influenza, so trying to be super vigilant to keep pups away. #newportoregon #oregoncoast

  4. The West Coast Railroaders Group was operating Speeder Excursions for the public from the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad station in Garibaldi, Oregon. We got to ride a speeder around the bay (Miami Cove) and back. This was a rare opportunity that I wanted to take advantage of while we had the chance. I’m glad we did! It was fun and interesting.

  5. Today Honey-Chan and I made our first proper visit to the beach since we moved in last week. This one is just 5 minutes from our new house. Weather was great, not too windy!

  6. So, peeps and friends,

I was a bit late to #HashtagGames tonight, because I JUST SOLD MY OLD HOUSE AND ALSO TRANSFERRED MY RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS TO MY ROTH IRA!
Seriously, you would not believe the seven hours of phone trees I just endured.
    But both are done!
    Can I get a WOOT?

  7. I just moved back to the Pacific Northwest, so I don't know if they even make these anymore, but I would give my left nut for a peanut butter one.
Little chocolate turds, so truly scrumptious!

  8. This is pretty much me after moving my whole life from the Least Coast back to the Left Coast.
Took a lot out of me.
    Body / spine destroyed.
But at least they have #Cannabis here.
Been in a lot of pain this past week; helps a lot.

Thanks for your Boosts and Love!

  9. I took Friday off of work and went down to Yachats to watch the waves crash against the rocks. My husband hung out with our 14 year old Aussie and I took our Corgi on the 804 path. We went to Wildcraft Cider, our first time to try it since they took over the Yachats Brewing site. Ciders were tasty, they also have 6 or so Block 15 beers on tap. Too bad we weren’t hungry, the food menu looked delicious. Oh, and we spied the forthcoming Pelican Brewery site under construction. #oregoncoast #beer

  10. Inspired by @thisisraerae and went to Yaquina Head to hike/walk all the ups and downs. It’s an absolutely stunning day, and the lighthouse and tide pool areas were the only crowded spots. I had Communication Hill all to myself. #oregoncoast #newportoregon

  11. I bought myself a birthday present from the Yaquina Art Association gallery. #oregoncoast #newportoregon

  12. August isn’t the month with the lowest tides, but enough sand has washed in that tide pools are often way more accessible. I went north of Yaquina Head yesterday morning, and what usually is either inaccessible or requires quite a scramble on slippery rocks was just a simple step over a rock. There’s a little cave way out that was also accessible. Super cool. #oregoncoast #newportoregon

  13. Today was a good day. A really good day. It’s been a while since I’ve had one of those.

Four of our family of seven went to the Oregon coast. We ventured over a bay to a peninsula, where we’ve never been. And it was the best choice we could have made.

We visited three beaches and a scenic loop. It was SO beautiful. We brought good food with us, and ate it while looking out over the vast ocean.

Oh, and that’s about as close as I’ve been to a family of deer. There were three of them, foraging on the side of the road.

    Good times.

My spouse and two cats are making our final move to Oregon tonight, and I can't be happier (although it's going to be a rough 24 hours). Already got my voter's registration application!

  15. Dunes are forming! I’m sure they’re pretty close up, but I was getting wind blasted enough as it was. #oregoncoast #newportoregon

  16. This is where I Toot from.
GD mover’s truck broke down TWICE between Florida and Oregon. He was supposed to be here Tuesday; now he’s in Portland trying to load all my shit into a U-Haul, to somehow get here later today.
Note the makeshift cup holder; there’s nothing to do here except watch CNBC on my laptop, smoke weed, and day drink.

  17. After moving, found the local NPR station, FTW.
I was confused at first, because the main station was the same frequency as my old one in Florida, 89.7.
    But I guess around here, it's 90.5.
    So, one more checkbox.

  18. @rartsy

Gawd, I hate that. Somehow slept on Monday's flight, but now I have to do it again on Saturday, and then next Thursday, with two pets.
I can never sleep on planes, too excited.
I always end up at my destination completely wiped out; a Japan trip is 25 hours door to door.

  19. The Trump admin's petty shittery against western Oregon continues. This time he's literally going to kill people, and he wants to put an "Oregon Auschwitz" at an airport that's a critical emergency link to the outside world for the Oregon coast in the place where a critical emergency helicopter was until recently based.

  20. @dandean Lincoln City, Oregon is a good place to stop with tons of hotels and a campground in-town at D River. The Anchor Inn is retro and fun. Inn at Spanish Head has spectacular views. There are a lot more.
