  1. Suppose a Totalitarian World Order built on the genocide of indigenous people and the theft of their resources can obtain peace. What happens next? The great nuclear powers turn on their own people. Well it’s already happening, so Trotsky will get his world revolution or heat death? He just got the timing wrong as Marx foresaw? Does all have to turn to shit first so the Orange Turd can text, the words that lie, “I told you so!”. With weak and MAD despots, oligarchs, plutocrats, theocrats and their techno fascist celebrity cults, only a barren Earth covered in toxic ash can be promised. #ResistWeakMen #TheGreatICEDeath #NuclearWinter #UnitedSpaceShip ? #LiarsPromises #FateOfEmpires #EcocideEmpires #BiosphereCollapse #UnitedShitHoleEnforcement #TWO #TheFederation #USSEnterprise

  2. * Evgeny P. Velikhov * 1935 - 2024

One brilliant Russian Physicist who probably stopped WWIII ... so far.

Velikhov and three colleagues testified at a US Senate forum on the possibility of nuclear war causing a “nuclear winter.”[5] In June 1984, Velikhov published a critique of the feasibility of space weapons in the Washington Post.

February 1987, Velikhov organized eight parallel international forums in Moscow to discuss how to achieve “A Nonnuclear World for the Survival of Mankind.”

As Velikhov told one of us in 1990, when the hard-liners were beginning to mobilize against Gorbachev, “You should not fall dead before you are shot.”

  3. Nowhere to hide: How a nuclear war would kill you — and almost everyone else.

    By François Diaz-Maurin

"Since Russia’s war in Ukraine started, President #Putin and other Russian officials have made repeated nuclear threats, in an apparent attempt to deter Western countries from any direct military intervention. If Russia were to ever start—voluntarily or accidentally—nuclear war with the United States and other NATO countries, the number of devastating nuclear explosions involved in a full exchange could waft more than 150 Tg of soot into the stratosphere, leading to a nuclear winter that would disrupt virtually all forms of life on Earth over several decades.

"Stratospheric soot injections associated with different nuclear war scenarios would lead to a wide variety of major climatic and biogeochemical changes, including transformations of the atmosphere, oceans, and land. Such global climate changes will be more long-lasting than previously thought because models of the 1980s did not adequately represent the stratospheric plume rise. It is now understood that soot from nuclear #firestorms would rise much higher into the stratosphere than once imagined, where soot removal mechanisms in the form of 'black rains' are slow. Once the smoke is heated by sunlight it can self-loft to altitudes as high as 80 kilometers (50 miles), penetrating the mesosphere."

    #FACTCHECK:

This program upgrades old #Nuclear Fission #warheads into newer Nuclear Fusion warheads, and generally maintains the current arsenal. It does NOT increase the supply of #NuclearWeapons, and newer Fusion warheads actually have FAR LESS #NuclearFallout than the old ones: this decreases the risk of #civilian exposure to nuclear elements, and #NuclearWinter.

This is an alternative to #Putin attempting to fire a #missile recently which malfunctioned and destroyed the entire launch site.

While nuclear weapons are a dangerous thing to have, and preferably should NEVER be used, #NATO keeps a supply for retaliatory purposes: Russia alone has more nuclear weapons than all of NATO combined.

NATO's nuclear weapons are only usable in specific, retaliatory and existential circumstances, such as a full-scale nuclear first-strike by Putin.

Either way, as having nuclear weapons is neither new nor exclusively #US policy, the claim that it increases the likelihood of #NuclearWar is FALSE.

  5. I am currently writing a paper about the potential of #seaweed as a resilient food in a #nuclearwinter in my position as researcher at #ALLFED. I have a great team of co-authors. However, we are missing a seaweed expert with whom we could discuss our assumptions. Anybody here interested in helping out or even co-authoring the paper?
