Several US schools to install pepper-spraying drones to respond to school shootings, because guns don't shoot people, children do. And because public resources should never be made available to the Public for silly Free Stuff like education, medical care, affordable liveable homes, decent jobs, food and water and those kind of selfish Entitlements. And communities can't be allowed to take care of themselves (i.e., with resident-funded policing) for chrissakes; they must be overseen by the national-socialist technocrat investors.

Today's "reasonable" politics to often feels like lost people, each individually thrashing through the same thorny bush. The problem isn't the people, it's the roots feeding the mess.

That changed due to #neoliberalism selling off public housing stock, then reserving that housing for the "vulnerable" of society defined as: elderly, the jobless, the homeless, ex-prisoners, the mentally ill, substance misusers and victims of domestic violence. Low wage workers are now stuck because bureaucracy locks them out of the public sector housing system.

In trying to undersand why the world is going to shit, we have discovered why the upper echelons of corporate management (and large institutional investors) are all in on #LLM-based #GenAISlop applications (#Enshitification personified). They’ve all succumbed to #AIPsychosis, assuredly a neurological condition with built-in #Denialism, with the only known cure being #Insolvency followed by #StockMarketCrash and global #EconomicCollapse.
In parallel, the question that is really bugging me is: why do #RightWing nut jobs keep banging their heads against a wall? Do they suffer from a similar type of neurological impairment? I originally thought they were all motivated to behave like they do because of particular unresolved character flaws that I conflatingly call ‘victimhood’. A self flagellation of the soul. A longing to be confirmed martyrs and pitied as such while raging at the world as the cause of their affliction — the circulatity is staggering. A condition recently appearing to be of epidemic proportion.
An article in #NewPolitics (Eddy Jokovich) has another explanation from the political perspective: A craving for limelight and a fundamental propensity to be lazy;
“…rather than developing policies for Australia’s actual economic, social and environmental challenges, the Australian right wants to import a prefab Trump–Farage–CPAC culture war that has never borne any electoral fruit in the past. So why do they keep doing it? Because it’s cheaper than developing the serious policy work, it’s far more angry than decent democratic debate, and it’s a lot easier than governing competently.” (NOTE: I have reservations about the claim of electoral ineffectiveness)

@tinker @aardvark It's currently kind of impossible to 'support' #AI companies. Using the services costs them money.
The companies are all hoping to get lock in followed by heavy enshitification. The best was to resist it is with local alternatives and community supported ones.
Every single problem from #AI, literally 100% of them, were existing problems caused by #neoliberalism, and it's just made the problem big and annoying enough the _now suddenly_ everyone cares.
None of this has to do with General Pretrained Transformers or Diffusion Models.
