I now have an itch to pick #Nioh2 back up (I never finished it), but I know it would mess up my #MonsterHunterWilds muscle memory just before the last update drops, so I guess I will have to wait a few weeks.

I really tried to like #LiesOfP, but it just doesn't work for me.
It is not the difficulty (#Nioh2 is significantly harder), but a long list of stuff that annoys me.
The combat is a unholy mix of expecting lighting-fast reactions and being very unresponsive. All levels are essentially linear monochrome corridors. The enemy variety is limited, and largely rely on "jumpscare" tactics to damage you. Even the "Pinocchio" inspiration annoys me, as it feels like they never ever bothered to read the book, but just lifted a few random names.

I know a lot of people like it, and I am happy for them. But it just doesn't work for me.

Not that they did me much good, because I died pretty much straight away, and repeatedly.

Trying out NIOH 2 again. I've come to the realization in retrospection, that while I'm really not used to using consumable items in souls-like games, the fact that this game gives you skill points that can be spent on self-refilling consumable attacks and buffs means I really should be using them. We'll see if my change in approach means I'll have better luck this attempt.

(*) Le jeu est sorti en mars 2019. Je l'ai eu en mai de la même année. Je l'ai commencé quelques semaines plus tard. Je ne connaissais pas du tout From Software et les Dark Souls. Elden Ring n'était pas sorti (ni toutes les vidéos YouTube sur le sujet). Ce fut une claque immense. Après 6h de jeu, j'ai abdiqué (juste après le second ennemi d'élite, même pas le 1er boss). Je m'étais dit que je retenterai plus tard.

4 ans après, quasi jour pour jour, et en partie grâce à #Nioh2 nous y revoilà !

📽️ Rappel : je sors de 4 mois hyper intensifs et super kiffants sur Nioh 2.

Ca faisait des années qu'un jeu ne m'avait plus autant amusé, challengé (*) et mené aussi loin en termes de maîtrise du gameplay.

(*) Après GOW, je me ré-attaque a Sekiro , qui m'avait bizn cueilli à froid la première fois.

Moi qui pensais que jamais je n'aurais le talent, le courage ou la patience pour finir le jeu, je l'ai plié en long, en large et en travers.

Je pense encore y revenir un peu de temps en temps et y passer quelques heures en ligne pour aider les âmes en peine, et profiter encore de mon stuff boosté et adapté au max.

Mais il est temps pour moi de m'attaquer à un nouveau jeu.

Récemment, j'ai changé d'instance Mastodon. Je ne vous cache pas que je suis un peu triste d'avoir à nouveau un compte vierge de messages. Depuis 9 mois, j'en avais publié 160, dont certains thread que j'ai travaillés, comme mon test sur #nioh2

Du coup, j'ai commencé à creuser une solution pour re-publier les messages que je souhaite retrouver. Il me reste pas mal de taf.

Mais je m'interroge sur cette démarche, que je me soupçonne d'être orgueilleuse et trop matérielle.

Vous en pensez quoi ?

🎮 update #nioh2 : bientôt 300h de jeu (286h précisément). J'ai finis le jeu dans les 3 premières difficultés ("samouraï", "guerrier" et "démon"). J'ai attaqué aujourd'hui la difficulté "sage". Je continue de me faire 1-shot dans le plaisir et l'allégresse alors que je connais les maps & mobs par cœur. Le 🏆 platine n'est plus très loin. Quelle vie !

🎮 J'avais fait une première review de Nioh 2 #ps5 #nioh2 il y a 1 mois, après 20h de jeu. 100h de jeu plus tard, et le jeu fini 2 fois (NG et NG+) 🙌 je confirme et appuie tout ce que j'ai dit : Nioh 2 est🏅le meilleur jeu - pour moi - auquel j'ai joué depuis trèèèèès longtemps (#witcher3 2018 voire carrément #ff7 1999).
