#MidnightSuns also feels at least partly like an #autism simulator. It has that vibe when you start making #neurodivergent friends and suddenly you learn that some people are ok with you just the way you are. I’m thinking about the scene where you have to convince #Spiderman it’s ok to stop masking.

So I’ve been playing #MidnightSuns and being incredibly charmed by it. The whole tactical card battle is nice n all but it’s the downtime game that’s got me.

Bueno, finalmente dejo colgado el #MidnightSuns. El rollete social link es simpático pero cuando más avanzaba en el juego más cansino se me hacia el sistema de combate. Bastante cuesta arriba se me hacen los combates por turnos como para tener que liarme con un elemento de azar. Paso.

* 'Web of Shadows', a timeline that blends Marvel's #SpiderVerse and #MidnightSuns with DC's #JusticeLeagueDark

* 'Castle Grayskull', a timeline that blends Marvel and DC's cosmic themes with He-Man/She-Ra.

* 'Hell's Kitchen' combines Batman's Gotham City with Marvel Knights and TMNT

I've spent the last two days playing Midnight Suns (Sons? I never know the correct term). I bought it a year or so ago but kept putting it off. It's a shame this game largely ignored the card game style play while odd (especially from the guys who made #xcom works a lot better than it should. If you see a copy on sale or physically pick this game up, the story is decent and the gameplay is fun

#Marvel #MidnightSuns is free to keep this week on the Epic Game Store. I'm 8 hours into this game and loving it so far, definitely worth picking up. It's a turn-based tactics game from the makers of the new #XCom but it feels pretty different from other games like that I've played and there's a whole social story mode too where you get to have mass effect-style conversations with your team members.

I finished #midnightsuns in record time, by my standards, and now there is an empty void at the place the game occupied the past weeks.
Do you know that feeling of emptiness a great game, book or movie leaves after you are finished with it?
It's a bit like losing a friend you have grown very fond of in a very short time.

Depressing. I think I'll get some ice cream while I think about what I do about the empty spot in my heart.

During long and slow cardio workouts, I play turn-based squad tactics games on my #SteamDeck. I loved and finished Marvel's #MidnightSuns, and #Warhammer40k Mechanicus was a fun little squash match. So I thought I'd try #XCom2 next and, while I love the detail, it probably isn't for me. It's great, but the missions only feel playable *after* restarting them 3 times to figure out what they're all about. That's not the kind of flow I find manageable. I'd love to find other titles to try.
