Ein außerordentlich kritisches Interview - man weiß gar nicht, welche Aussagen von #MuratKayman zuerst zitiert werden sollten. Diese beeindruckend klare Stimme gibt einiges Vertrauen, dass auch im #Islam eine #Aufklärung möglich sein könnte.
Es wird ein weiter Weg sein, der hoffentlich damit beginnt, dass er von seiner #islamisch|en Community nicht als #Nestbeschmutzer wahrgenommen wird.

You know that Muhammadiyah is not a small organization, it is the second largest Muslim organisation in Indonesia and among the top ten wealthiest religious organisations in the world. Of course it's not perfect but I'm proud to be part of it, mainly for its education.

Muhammadiyah taught me many things. To adhere a religion, one must have a reason, not blind faith. Islam must always progress, reformed, and modernised, keeping up with the times. In the process, there must be continuous renewal (تجديد, tajdid), internally or externally.

Surprised my Indonesian friends? Yes, I'm part of Muhammadiyah, although not yet an official member, but I am part of Muhammadiyah, as well as my family especially my grandfather. Even I myself graduated from one of the Muhammadiyah junior high schools in my hometown.

Even though I don't pawn or own a visible dog, I speak fluent #canine. And just like me, they do like their sausages. Just had four for breakfast. Real pork. None of that #vogon or #vegan #processing. When the #wolf has your tongue. SAUSAGES!
As I believe in a #balanced diet, took one multivitamin, #sauerkraut, for my gut microbiome and gott 😇 wholemeal #seed bread and #butter to #house the sausage AND a pot of #English decaff #tea to fight my #caffeine #drug habit.
Obviously I am still a #heretical #Moslem, #Jew, Vegan. And as a heretical #Buddhist of all but the Tantrists and a few other cults, I will never make Jain-Hood. Not that I was trying. Wait... I am trying...

Ich bring das noch mal aufs Tapet, weil ich gestern ein Foto von einem Sheikh des #Sufi-Ordens sah, bei dem ich auch öfters beim Zik'r mitmach.
Ein sehr feiner älterer Herr, #Moslem, und im Hintergrund ein Weihnachtsbaum.
Das muss diese "kulturelle Aneignung" sein, von der die auch öfters faseln.

Did you know that the first modern standing #army revolted?
During the 14th c. the #Ottomanempire found itself in need of #soldiers. The easiest recruits were children of Christian slaves who were turned #Moslem.
These boys were 7-14 years old & would become proper soldiers, known as Janissary, at age 24.
They had to remain isolated from society, #poor & #celibate.
Around 1446 did they start to demand to be paid.
By 1566 marriage was allowed.By 1862, they were gone.
