Philippines Economic Weakness Continues As 2nd Quarter GDP Growth Lands At 2.3%

The economy of the Philippines slowed down even further in the 2nd quarter of 2026 landing at 2.3%, according to a news report by GMA News. Embarrassingly, this made the Philippines an economic weakling among the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

By comparison, the economy of the Philippines achieved only 2.8% growth in the 1st quarter of this year. The nation’s economic growth for 2025 was at 4.4%

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the GMA News report. Some parts in boldface…

The Philippine economy continued to slow down in the second quarter of 2026, still due to a subdued investor and consumer sentiment amid the lingering effects of the flood control corruption scandal and the inflationary pressure brought by Middle East crisis-induced global fuel price shocks, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Friday.

At a press conference, PSA chief and National Statistician Claire Dennis Mapa said the economy, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP)—the value of goods and services produced in a period— grew 2.3% in the April to June 2026 period, slower than the 2.8% growth seen in the first quarter of 2026.

This is the economy’s weakest footing since the fourth quarter of 2009 —excluding the contraction seen during the COVID-19 pandemic years— when the GDP growth rate was at 1.8%.

The 2.8% second quarter GDP growth put the Philippines behind its neighbors in Southeast Asia that already released their April to June economic growth rates such as Indonesia at 5.29%, Vietnam at 8.39%, and Singapore at 5.7%.

The first half of 2026 GDP growth rate stood at 2.6%, still behind the government’s downwardly revised target of 3.5% to 4.5% for the entire year.

Despite the economic slowdown, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said, “What we are experiencing right now, I believe, is transitory, temporary.”

“Domestic demand remained subdued, mainly because total investment continued to contract as public construction declined. Household consumption growth also moderated amid higher inflation, job losses, and lower remittance receipts arising from the Middle East conflict,” Balisacan said.

Household final consumption expenditure grew 2.8%, slower than 5.2% in the same period last year, weighed by contractions in transport (-7.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-1.9%), recreation and culture (-0.8%), and restaurants and hotels (-0.2%).

Government expenditure, likewise, slowed down by 8.3% from 8.7% year-on-year; while gross capital formation (GCF) —which measures investments— contracted by 9.2% from a growth rate of 0.9% a year ago.

The decline in GCF was due to the decline in construction at 14.8% with government spending on construction contracting 32.4%.

“Although public construction is a small part of the economy, the amount of contraction, at 32%, brought a significant impact on the economy,” Balisacan said.

“The sharp decline in public construction was the main contributor in the decline in investments… driven by continuous caution due to the flood control scandal,” the country’s chief economist said.

Among the major economic sectors, agriculture posted a growth rate of 2.7%, slower than 7% year-on-year; industry declined by 2.4%, from an increase of 2.1% weighed by the construction’s depreciation; services grew slower at 4.5% from 6.9%.

Agriculture, industry, and services sector contributed 7.5%, 27.9%, and 63.3%, respectively to the total GDP during the quarter.

Retro Gaming Ads Blast – Part 45

Welcome back readers, fellow geeks and electronic gaming fans!

In this edition of the Retro Gaming Ads Blast (RGAB) series, we will take a look at another batch of retro gaming print ads from the 1980s to the 1990s.

For the newcomers reading this, Retro Gaming Ads Blast (RGAB) looks back at the many print ads of games (console, arcade, computer and handheld) that were published in comic books, magazines, flyers, posters and newspapers long before smartphones, social media, the worldwide web and streaming became popular. To put things in perspective, people back in the 1980s to the 1990s were more trusting of print media for information and images about electronic games and related products.

With those details laid down, here is the newest batch of retro gaming print ads for you to see and enjoy…

1. Tron Arcade Flyer

Remember how dazzling the 1982 movie Tron was when you first saw it? That film had groundbreaking computer-generated graphics and the filmmakers worked very hard to tell a story covering both the real and digital worlds. Along the way, the movie had strong video game vibes which resonated with gamers at a time when arcade gaming was wildly popular in America. Believe it or not, an official arcade game of Tron was released the same year as the movie and it was a massive success. The arcade flyer perfectly captured the vibe and look from the movie and the machine itself had a control stick the same with what was shown to viewers. This old flyer is still great to look at.

2. Green Beret Japanese Arcade Flyer

Konami was a highly prolific game publisher in the 1980s and it had lots of games that became huge blockbusters. During the decade, their game developers were strongly influenced by both Hollywood action movies and the Cold War. In 1985, Konami released the militaristic game Green Beret in Japanese arcades and to promote it, they created an arcade flyer featuring a very stylish artwork highlighting military images of soldiers (including a guy smoking) and warfare. This ad still looks great and it was not surprising it helped the game achieve huge commercial success. Green Beret was released in America as Rush’n Attack.

3. Darius Japanese And North American Arcade Flyers

Released in arcades worldwide in 1987, Darius is a 2D side-scrolling shooter game from Taito which had a science fiction concept of the starship Silver Hawk (piloted by players) which sets on a mission to destroy an evil empire before it could destroy the world called Darius. The game was successful, most notably in Japan and it eventually led to sequels being released later. What I find intriguing is how the arcade game was promoted in Japan and in North America. The Japanese arcade flyer had this intriguing artwork that reflected a blend of sci-fi with a touch of horror. The North American flyer had a strong sci-fi touch with a male and female model wearing costumes (that made them look futuristic) standing beside the Darius machine. Which flyer looks more appealing to you?

4. Data East’s Arcade Alley Print Ad

There is nothing like porting arcade hits to computer systems for gamers to enjoy. In 1988 there in Europe, U.S. Gold released Data East’s Arcade Alley for computer systems and it included ports of popular Data East games like Kung Fu Master, Express Raider, Breakthru, Tag Team Wrestling, Last Mission and Karate Champ. U.S. Gold’s print ad showed a guy in the middle of a video arcade looking on both sides to pick which game to play which strongly emphasized the essence of the game collection (offered in cassettes and disk). This old ad is still amusing to look at.

5. Blasteroids European Print Ad

Blasteroids, the third entry in Atari’s popular Asteroids games series, was released in European arcades by Image Works and eventually landed on computer systems there. For Europe, the ad makers came up with artwork showing a creepy, green space monster surrounded by a few spaceships to emphasize the game’s concept. The said monster eventually appeared on the game covers of the computer ports of Blasteroids later. This ad shows creative adjustments taken to promote games in different parts of the world.

6. Dream Team USA Japanese Print Ad

Remember how wildly popular the Dream Team (Team USA in Olympic basketball) was in 1992? With NBA legends Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton and more representing America in the basketball tournament of the Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona, Spain, the Dream Team (a media-led reference for the team) was easily the main attraction not only for basketball fans worldwide but also those who craved for excitement in international sports events. That said, Electronic Arts secured the license to make an official video game about the Dream Team and actually released the game Team USA Basketball within 1992 for the Sega Genesis. As basketball is popular also in Japan, EA released the game there titled as Dream Team USA and came up with a Japanese print ad to seriously capture gamers’ attention. This ad is still effective in delighting both basketball and video game enthusiasts.

7. Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back And Return Of The Jedi Print Ad

Back in the 1990s, there was a resurgence of the original Star Wars trilogy across different forms of media. Apart from the VHS re-releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, there was a slew of video games of Star Wars released during the decade and the fans had new stuff to entertain themselves with. Along the way, the company THQ secured the rights to Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi for re-release to coincide with the 1997 “Special Edition” theatrical releases of their respective movies. THQ’s print ad simply used official images of Return of the Jedi and inserted a tiny bit of The Empire Strikes Back, and they did not show any screenshots that could have been helpful for Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Game Boy users. Still, it was smart for THQ to print two excerpts of game reviews to sell the games.

8. Super Mario RPG North American Print Ad

Remember back in the 1990s when Nintendo and role-playing game giant SquareSoft had a very healthy business relationship that proved successful? Before their eventual breakup (related to Square signing with Sony for PlayStation development), the two companies joined forces to make a fully featured role-playing game for the SNES featuring Super Mario and related characters…Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. To promote the game, Nintendo (the publisher) created a mesmerizing 2-page print ad highlighting their characters while emphasizing the role-playing and fantasy aspects of the game. At the time of its release, Super Mario was often identified with platform games and the Super Mario RPG print ad was a serious attempt to lure fans into RPGs which the SNES was already rich with. This ad, which I first saw in gaming magazines in 1996, still looks great.

9. NBA Shootout ’97 Print Ad

If there is anything I miss about 1990s console gaming, it is the fact that there were a lot of NBA-licensed video games that were offered to players with different tastes in basketball gaming. Sony had its own exclusive NBA games series called NBA Shootout and they were pretty aggressive selling its own basketball games along with the PlayStation going up against the likes of Electronic Arts (NBA Live), Sega and others. This is reflected in this 2-page print ad of NBA Shootout ’97 which was a PlayStation-exclusive release. They featured a photograph of Lakers’ Eddie Jones about to dunk and showed screenshots as well as the descriptive text written with excitement. Since it first started, NBA Shootout was basketball in full 3D polygonal graphics backed with motion-captured moves and dunks that players could enjoy only PlayStation. This ad is a reminder that Sony used to make official NBA games and there is a lack of variety and players’ choice of NBA gaming in today’s world.

10. Legend of Legaia North American Print Ad

There was a time when Sony produced Japanese RPGs (JRPGs) exclusive for PlayStation consoles. One of them was Legend of Legaia which had a combat system that emphasized martial arts and it had an interesting fantasy concept. For its 1999 North American release, Sony came up with a very bizarre 2-page print ad that had digital artwork with a very strong horror vibe and the visual designs within the three screenshots shown were clearly not related with it. How this ad was made remains unclear. This is easily one of the most misguided gaming ads of the 1990s.

America Sanctioning Iran’s Mahan Air Network and IRGC-Linked Front Company

In a serious effort to weaken the fighting capability and severing the resources (financially and militarily) of the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran, the United States sanctioned entities and individuals in four nations that enabled the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to the official announcement of the Department of State.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the entire announcement of the State Department. Some parts in boldface…

The United States today sanctioned six entities and individuals in China, India, Russia, and Iran that enable the Iranian regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

These include entities that support Mahan Air, the IRGC’s airline of choice for moving weapons, military personnel, and equipment. Today’s action also targets DadeNegar Startup Studio, an IRGC-affiliated front company supporting Iranian military targeting by soliciting locations of American and Israeli equipment in the Middle East.

The United States calls on the international community, particularly companies and individuals doing business with Mahan Air or any other sanctioned Iranian carrier, to recognize the serious risks raised by continuing such engagement.

The United States will continue to expose and disrupt entities providing the IRGC with the tools and information it uses to threaten American personnel, our partners, and regional stability.

Albert Cashier

Cashier (1843 – 1915) was Irish-born Jennie Hodgers - an American soldier who served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Cashier was one of at least 250 women who enlisted as men to fight. However, Cashier had adopted the identity of a man before enlisting, + maintained it until death. He enlisted in 1862 for a 3 year term + was described as a 5'3" soldier, 29 years old with blue eyes + auburn hair, weighing 110 lbs. Cashier fought in over 40 battles until he was honorably discharged on 1865

After the war, continuing to live as a man, Cashier worked was a church janitor, cemetery worker, + street lamplighter. Living as a man allowed him to vote in elections + to claim a veteran's pension

In 1911, Cashier was hit by a car, resulting in a broken leg. A physician discovered his birth sex in the hospital, but did not disclose the information. No longer able to work, Cashier was moved to a Soldiers & Sailors home. He lived there until a deterioration of mind began to take place + he was moved to a Hospital for the Insane. Attendants at the hospital discovered his birth sex + forced him to wear women's clothes.

Albert Cashier died in 1915 + was buried in uniform with full military honors.

The United States is taking decisive action to cut off the financial lifelines sustaining Iran’s ruling elite. Today’s action targets Ali Ansari, a Dubai-based Iranian national who has built a sprawling global network of real estate and commercial holdings — spanning Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Cyprus, the UAE, and beyond — on behalf of Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and other regime insiders.

The United States also sanctioned three Iran-based currency exchange houses — Mohammad Darbani and Partners, Lavasani and Partners, and Mohsen Khandan and Partners — along with their managing partners and associated front companies. By targeting these networks, the United States is directly disrupting the regime’s ability to access foreign currency and conduct international financial activity.

These actions reflect the Trump Administration’s commitment to holding accountable all those who enable the regime’s corruption and regional aggression. The United States will continue to pursue sanctions against individuals, companies, and financial institutions — including foreign entities — that facilitate illicit Iranian commerce, and will not relent until the Iranian regime ends its destabilizing behavior and its exploitation of the Iranian people.

Today’s action is being taken pursuant to E.O. 13902, which targets persons operating in Iran’s financial and petroleum sectors, E.O. 13876, which focuses on the Supreme Leader of Iran and his affiliates, and the counterterrorism authority E.O. 13224, as amended by E.O. 13886. These designations build on a series of OFAC actions targeting Iranian shadow banking and currency exchange house networks

#1 Street Fighter III: New Generation Revisited – Way back in 1994, I had a blast of fun playing Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) plus other Street Fighter II games in the arcades. Naturally, I had a personal anticipation for Street Fighter III. However, Capcom released Street Fighter Alpha (Street Fighter Zero) and follow-up games over the next few years. In the 1st quarter of 1997, I saw Street Fighter III: New Generation in the local arcade and quickly inserted tokens to play it. I was very impressed with its super-smooth animation and enjoyed it. Still, something about the game felt hollow and weird as well which is related to the fact that Ryu and Ken were the only established Street Fighter characters who returned. Indeed, there was something odd that happened behind the scenes at Capcom when Street Fighter III: New Generation was made. Watch and learn from the videos below.

Retro Gaming Ads Blast – Part 44

Welcome back readers, fellow geeks and electronic gaming fans!

In this edition of the Retro Gaming Ads Blast (RGAB) series, we will take a look at another batch of retro gaming print ads from the 1980s to the early 2000s.

For the newcomers reading this, Retro Gaming Ads Blast (RGAB) looks back at the many print ads of games (console, arcade, computer and handheld) that were published in comic books, magazines, flyers, posters and newspapers long before smartphones, social media, the worldwide web and streaming became popular. To put things in perspective, people back in the 1980s to the 1990s were more trusting of print media for information and images about electronic games and related products.

With those details laid down, here is the newest batch of retro gaming print ads for you to see and enjoy…

1. Berzerk Arcade Flyer

Could you imagine being trapped deep within a maze surrounded by dangerous robots (plus one other unstoppable enemy) capable firing laser blasts at you? This was the concept behind the design of Berzerk, an arcade game released by Stern Electronics in 1980. Released at a time when science fiction became wildly popular in American entertainment, Berzerk was immersive for gamers and the multidirectional gameplay feature was captivating for many. To promote the game, Stern Electronics came up with a customized visual design that blended 2D sprite elements with a photograph of two people and some hand-drawn art pieces. The front of the flyer emphasized accurate the core concept of the game while the rear explained the technical details. They even played with their company name with the line “Stern goes berzerk!”

2. Rush’n Attack North American Arcade Flyer

During the late stages of the Cold War, Konami made a lot of military-themed video games which resonated not only with those who were already aware about the global conflict but also with gamers who craved for action and excitement. One of those games was Rush’n Attack (alternative title: Green Beret) which was released in American arcades in late-1985. Konami came up with an arcade flyer showing four people (looking like an American family) having a good time in front of an arcade cabinet, and three screenshots of the game were displayed on the lower half. Rush’n Attack – which was deliberately titled to resemble the phrase “Russian attack” due to its obvious Cold War setting – went on to succeed commercially and critically. One notable game review compared Rush’n Attack favorably with the movie Rambo: First Blood Part II.

3. Turbo Out Run North American Arcade Flyer

Following the massive success Sega achieved with Out Run in 1986, the company went on to release the follow-up Turbo OutRun three years later. As seen in their North American flyer, Sega emphasized the in-game locations, the look of the machine with the driver’s seat and steering wheel, and the excitement they can expect. Turbo OutRun went on to become successful in the arcades worldwide and it got ported to a variety of consoles and computer systems in the years that followed. On its own, the arcade flyer sparked excitement for gamers.

4. Air Duel Japanese Arcade Flyer

Released in Japanese arcades in 1990, Air Duel from Irem is an intense and fast-paced 2D sprite vertically scrolling shooter that attracted a lot of players. It had a war theme and its aesthetic has a mix of military and somewhat futuristic science fiction elements. The game’s arcade flyer featured a very intriguing artwork by Takashi Yamasaki showing two aircrafts flying over a city heading towards a massively large enemy in the distance. In my opinion, the artwork alone is pretty engaging to see and it’s more than enough to make me think about playing the game.

5. Spellbound Adaptor Print Ad

Remember back in the old days when there were hardware lockouts on game consoles that prevented users from playing games imported from different regions? In Europe, a special cheat and regional bypass cartridge called the Spellbound Adaptor was released and it allowed Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) users to bypass the lockouts and play games from overseas. The Spellbound Adaptor was notably advertised in European print media showing two sexy ladies posing with the adaptor itself (on the SNES), the television and many SNES games. The ad even includes a promo of buying the adaptor with a game of choice for only £69.95. The ad is still impactful to look at.

6. Contra III: The Alien Wars North American Print Ad

By the time the SNES was launched in America in 1991, a lot of gamers who enjoyed Contra games on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) have been craving for a sequel on the newer console. Their dreams finally came through in early 1992 when Konami released Contra III: The Alien Wars on the SNES, and it was a lot more than visual upgrade as it had groundbreaking features connected with the game developers’ clever use of the console’s technology. Konami was already aware of Contra’s huge following in America, so they came up with an aggressive looking print ad promoting Contra III: The Alien Wars. With a red-and-black background, the ad had a variety of screenshots that were tilted to look 3D (showing what the game offered) and used a minor space for the descriptive text and image of the game box. This old print ad is one of the finest ways to promote a sequel while also emphasizing the next-generation experience fans can enjoy. This ad is a classic!

7. Apocalypse Print Ads

Believe it or not, Hollywood legend Bruce Willis actually starred in the ambitious video game titled Apocalypse. Before its 1998 released on PlayStation, Apocalypse started with the player character having an AI-controlled partner named Trey Kincaid to be played by Willis. Publisher Activision signed a multi-million Dollar deal with Bruce Willis to use his likeness and voice for the Trey character. Eventually the Trey Kincaid role was modified to be the playable character. Given the huge deal signed with the super star and the additional costs that came with game design revisions, Activision launched an aggressive marketing campaign for Apocalypse and they heavily used Bruce Willis’s name and imagery. Ultimately the game sold less than one million copies and yet Activision was satisfied with the sales which convinced them to go back to Apocalypse developer Neversoft for a new project.

8. R-Type Delta North American Print Ad

R-Type, the long-running series of 2D side-scrolling shooters by Irem, fully embraced 3D polygons with R-Type Delta on PlayStation in 1998. To promote the game in North America, Irem and their partner Agetec went all-in emphasizing their series shift into 3D polygonal graphics while promising new in-game weapons. Very smartly, they included positive quotes from Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM), PlayStation Magazine (PSM) and Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM) to show credibility. In recent times, an enhanced version of R-Type Delta (R-Type Delta: HD Boosted) was released on modern game console and PC.

9. Racing Lagoon Japanese Print Ad

Released in 1999 for PlayStation only in Japan, Racing Lagoon was one of many games SquareSoft made for a genre other than role-playing games (RPGs). Released at a time when the PlayStation already had lots of racing games available from around the world, Racing Lagoon was a racing game that had role-playing elements mixed in. To promote it, SquareSoft made a print ad that had a night-time city vibe and they showed some screenshots with a unique visual style. The in-game story was influenced by the illegal street racing trend that happened in Japan during the 1980s.

10. Resident Evil – Code: Veronica North America Print Ads

When Resident Evil – Code: Veronica was released on the Sega Dreamcast in Japan in February 2000, it delivered a next-generation survival horror experience to die-hard RE fans and it was easily one of the must-have games for Dreamcast owners of the time. Along the way, RE fans and Dreamcast owners in America were already anticipating the game. Capcom had an aggressive ad campaign for the game with US gamers in mind and this particular single-page print ad showed the fan-favorite characters Claire and Chris Redfield on one corner, six selected screenshots and quotes from the published game reviews of Game Informer, Next Generation and the Official Dreamcast Magazine. The 2-page print ad had the same elements but had the Redfield siblings on the 2nd page. I remember seeing these ads on a few gaming magazines and they made me think about buying a Dreamcast just to play RE – Code: Veronica. These old ads emphasized the strong business trust between Capcom and Sega (which itself lost a lot of money and credibility with the Sega Saturn consoles and many add-on devices released years prior).

When Resident Evil – Code: Veronica was released on the Sega Dreamcast in Japan in February 2000, it delivered a next-generation survival horror experience to die-hard RE fans and it was easily one of the must-have games for Dreamcast owners of the time. Along the way, RE fans and Dreamcast owners in America were already anticipating the game. Capcom had an aggressive ad campaign for the game with US gamers in mind and this particular single-page print ad showed the fan-favorite characters Claire and Chris Redfield on one corner, six selected screenshots and quotes from the published game reviews of Game Informer, Next Generation and the Official Dreamcast Magazine. The 2-page print ad had the same elements but had the Redfield siblings on the 2nd page. I remember seeing these ads on a few gaming magazines and they made me think about buying a Dreamcast just to play RE – Code: Veronica. These old ads emphasized the strong business trust between Capcom and Sega (which itself lost a lot of money and credibility with the Sega Saturn consoles and many add-on devices released years prior).

Israeli Officials Fear Terrorist State Iran Will Not Live Up To Deal With America

The deal between the United States and the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran has officially been signed with the goal of winding down the military conflict and starting a negotiating window of sixty days. US President Donald Trump himself sign it while attending the G7 Summit in France.

For Israeli officials however, they feared that Iran will not live up to the deal and will most likely use the 60-day window to strengthen its position, exploit potential loopholes and even prolong the process, according to a news article by The Jerusalem Post. There is no guarantee that Iran will be prevented from launching ballistic missiles at Israel.

Israeli defense officials fear Tehran will use the 60-day window to buy time and strengthen its position, with Iran expected to receive significant relief in economic sanctions and in fuel and oil trade, according to an N12 news site report.

Israeli intelligence assessments, as conveyed to the political echelon in recent days, indicate that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, most likely does not want to reach a final agreement.

In other words, the negotiations being held by the Revolutionary Guards, as well as the approval of the framework agreement, stem from a desire to secure control of the Strait of Hormuz and to receive an economic boost from the United States.

Thus, Iran will aim to prolong the process and avoid rushing to reach a final agreement, the officials fear.

“We should not expect anything else from a vengeful regime. It would be very surprising if Iran does not invest all its efforts and tricks to shorten its reach to nuclear weapons, under the auspices of the talks,” a senior defense official said to News 12, expressing their concern about what Tehran will do during this 60-day window.

Lack of transparency from Washington concerns government – Furthermore, Israel’s defense establishment is becoming increasingly concerned about a lack of transparency from the Trump administration regarding the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran set to be signed in Switzerland on Friday, sources told N12 News on Wednesday.

Officials are also concerned about how the interim period will unfold, with Iran expected to face significant economic sanctions and fuel and oil relief.

Israeli intelligence assessments suggest that Iran may seek to delay negotiations on the nuclear issue while using the time to shorten its breakout timeline toward a nuclear weapon. Conversely, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran will begin negotiations on the nuclear issue “on the very day we sign the MoU,” according to the report.

The US’s withholding of details in the agreement, reportedly out of concern that Israeli leaks could derail Friday’s signing, points to the extent of the current divergence between Washington and Jerusalem on Iran, N12 reported.

In fairness to the United States, President Trump officially stated that if the terrorist regime of Iran wants to change the peace agreement or fails to comply, American will “go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head.”

Trump also contrasted the new deal with the Obama-era JCPOA, arguing the previous administration tried to “bribe their way out of it.”

By the end of 1999, the RE trilogy on PlayStation positively impacted video gaming as a whole and the characters Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield became wildly popular with gamers. I never saw it on the big screen back then but I do remember the aggressive pre-release promotions that include previews and an in-depth behind-the-scenes making on TV. The local buzz in 1991 was this…the film was entertaining and the team-up between Dolph Lundgren and the late Brandon Lee (son of Bruce Lee) was well-received. Trump Tells Islamic Terrorist State Iran To Take Deal Or Face Destruction

A lot happened between the United States and the Islamic terrorist regime of Iran lately. Previously there was progress reported in the latest talks between them and the result was the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. A short time later, Iran closed the strait and blamed America with a bunch of allegations. Iran even fired at ships in the strait as if they don’t really care about the ceasefire. In his latest move over the situation, US President Donald Trump told Islamic regime of Iran to take the deal or else they would face destruction, according to a report by Newsmax.

President Donald Trump on Sunday morning threatened to “knock out every single power plant and every single bridge” in Iran unless the country’s leaders accept a “very reasonable deal” offered by the United States.

Trump accused Iran of blatantly violating a ceasefire agreement by firing on ships in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, including vessels tied to key U.S. allies France and the United Kingdom.

“Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, criticizing Tehran’s actions as reckless and provocative.

“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran.“

Trump made clear that patience with the Iranian regime is running out, declaring “NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!” and vowing decisive action if diplomacy fails.

He framed the moment as long overdue, arguing past administrations failed to confront what he called Iran’s “killing machine” over decades.

The president also underscored what he described as a strategic advantage for the United States, noting Iran’s threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit chokepoint, are backfiring.

Trump said a U.S.-led blockade has already effectively shut down the passage, costing Iran an estimated $500 million per day while redirecting energy demand toward American producers in states like Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska.

Meanwhile, the administration is continuing diplomatic efforts.

Trump said U.S. representatives are heading to Islamabad, Pakistan, for negotiations, signaling that talks remain active despite rising tensions.

A White House official confirmed to Newsmax’s Mike Carter on Sunday that Vice President JD Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner will be leading the negotiations.

According to Axios on Saturday, Trump convened a high-level Situation Room meeting with top officials, including Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, to address the escalating crisis.

The current ceasefire is set to expire within days, and officials warn that without a breakthrough, hostilities could quickly resume.

Iran has acknowledged receiving new U.S. proposals and says it is reviewing them, but has not yet committed to a deal.

The renewed tensions come after signs of progress in negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, particularly limits on uranium enrichment.

However, Iran’s latest military actions in the Strait appear to have complicated those discussions.

Speaking Saturday, Trump dismissed Tehran’s tactics as ineffective brinkmanship.

“They got a little cute … they wanted to close up the Strait again,” he said, adding that Iran “can’t blackmail us.”

Young Voters In Israel Shifting Right, Support For Netanyahu Confirmed Strong

In Israel, local surveys focused on the political preferences of voters showed that young voters are shifting towards the right of the political spectrum and support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is strong, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

Recent surveys have revealed surprising shifts in the political preferences and values of young Israeli voters, indicating a strong right-wing alignment.

According to a recent Maariv poll published this past week conducted by Lazar Research, led by Dr. Menahem Lazar in collaboration with Panel4All, a majority of first-time voters in Israel’s upcoming Knesset elections-young people between the ages of 18 and 22-identify as right-wing.

The survey finds that 56% of this age group considers itself right-wing, compared with 44% of Israelis aged 23 and older.

Among younger Israelis, 22% describe themselves as center-right, 14% as centrist (compared with 27% of older Israelis), and 8% identify as center-left or left-wing.

The poll also found that the preferred prime ministerial candidate among young voters is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, garnering 35% support, followed by former prime minister Naftali Bennett at 19%. Other candidates received considerably lower levels of support.

Post-October 7 identity – The survey also revealed that the events surrounding October 7, 2023, and their aftermath have had a profound impact on young people’s relationship with their faith and Jewish traditions.

More than half (57%) of respondents indicated that their sense or practice of religious faith has grown stronger since October 7, while 54% reported a heightened connection to Jewish tradition.

This surge in religious identification comes amid an overwhelming sense of pride in their Israeli identity. 68% of respondents expressed pride in being Israeli, with 46% calling Israel a “very good” place to live, and 36% labeling it a “good” place to live, culminating in a 79% overall satisfaction rate with life in Israel.

Breaking these sentiments down further, young Israelis aged 18-20 are the most proud to be Israeli, with 75% expressing strong national pride. Religious individuals also showed a higher level of national pride, with 85% affirming they were very proud to be Israeli.

Reserves Service – The survey also sheds light on Israel’s high military readiness, with 18% of young people having served in the reserves since October 7, 2023. Half of these reservists reported serving for several hundred days.

In response to potential future reserve duty, a significant majority, 64%, stated they would report without hesitation. Another 33% said they would do so out of necessity, while only 3% expressed uncertainty or a refusal to serve again.

Israel’s Knesset Approves Death Penalty For Terrorists Bill

For decades, Israel has long been the target of terrorists from the Middle East and also those from other parts of the world. Countless people died in acts of violence and destruction committed by the terrorists. Knowing this, the Knesset of Israel approved a bill that would legislate the death penalty for terrorists with the tally of 62 to 48, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post.

The Knesset plenum passed a law mandating the death penalty for terrorists in Israel in final readings on Monday evening. The bill passed with 62 lawmakers in favor, 48 against, and one abstained.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Knesset to vote in favor of the controversial legislation, openly showing his support.

The bill, which was sponsored by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit Party, would, according to its proponents, act as a deterrent against terror and serve a measure of justice for victims of terrorism.

Ben-Gvir has pushed for the legislation since the start of his tenure as national security minister, repeatedly stating that its passage was a condition of Otzma Yehudit’s coalition agreement with Netanyahu.

Upon the bill’s passage, Ben-Gvir celebrated, stating, “Today, the State of Israel changes the rules of the game: anyone who murders Jews will no longer breathe freely or enjoy prison privileges.”

“This is a day of justice for the victims, a day of deterrence for the enemies. No more revolving doors for terrorists, only a clear decision. Those who choose terror choose death. Those who believe do not fear. The people of Israel live!” he added.

Discussions on the bill have been held in the plenum since morning, ahead of its second and third readings. The bill passed its first reading in November 2025 and has been debated in the Knesset National Security Committee since then.

The updated outline of the bill proposes that executions for terrorists would be carried out by hanging, implemented by the Israel Prison Service. The bill stipulates that a terrorist who intentionally kills a person as part of an act of terrorism will be sentenced to death.

From the outset, Ben-Gvir wanted an automatic death penalty for terrorism convictions, and that was the outline passed in the first reading. The revised version stipulates that a judge would decide between capital punishment and life in prison.

Terrorists from the West Bank, however, would still get the automatic death penalty, barring specific appeals.

The legislation has undergone several changes in recent weeks to soften some of its technical aspects, following criticism that certain provisions were too harsh or unrealistic.

The bill had also originally proposed carrying out executions by lethal injection before switching to hanging. Under the current outline, the execution would be carried out within a defined time frame of up to 90 days from the date of the sentence.

Strong opposition to the bill has also come from lawmakers within the Arab parties in the Knesset. Ben-Gvir has clashed with them on numerous occasions as the bill was being developed.

Yisrael Beytenu Party leader Avigdor Liberman voted in favor of the bill after his stance had been unclear.  On Sunday, it was reported that his party would only vote in favor of the bill if Netanyahu and Arye Deri, leader of the Shas Party, arrived to vote.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) stated that he opposed the bill during remarks at the plenum. “What is on the Knesset table here is not a law. It is a distorted public-relations stunt, cynically using the justifiable pain and anger of Israeli citizens for political gain,” he said.

Blue and White Party leader Benny Gantz also voted against the bill.

The haredi Sephardic Shas Party stated on Monday that it would vote in favor of the death penalty bill at the directive of the Council of Torah Sages, after various changes were made to it.

Content of the death penalty bill – Representatives from several Jewish human rights organizations have attended multiple committee discussions, voicing opposition to the bill on ethical grounds.

After the Knesset National Security Committee advanced the bill last week for its final readings, Ben-Gvir called it a “historic moment of justice” and vowed to “continue to lead an uncompromising policy against terrorism.”

The Knesset committee has held marathon discussions on the bill to advance it rapidly, with the discussions continuing amid the war. Opposition lawmakers have sharply criticized the coalition for advancing controversial legislation unrelated to the war during Operation Roaring Lion.

MK  Zvika Fogel (Otzma Yehudit) opened remarks at the plenum on the bill on Monday, saying that “This law is not about revenge or rage, but about the responsibility of a state towards its citizens, the responsibility of leadership towards human life.“

President Donald Trump is weighing a potential military operation to seize nearly 1,000 pounds of uranium from Iran, a high-risk mission that could place U.S. troops in the country for an extended period, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

U.S. officials told the Journal that Trump has not made a final decision but remains open to the idea as part of his broader goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The proposed operation would be complex and dangerous, potentially requiring American forces to operate on the ground in Iran for days or longer. Officials said Trump is considering the risks to U.S. personnel before moving forward.

At the same time, the president is pushing for a diplomatic solution, urging advisers to press Iran to hand over the uranium as a condition for ending the conflict.

According to the report, Trump has made clear in private discussions that Iran cannot retain the material and has raised the possibility of taking it by force if negotiations fail.

Regional powers, including Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, have been acting as intermediaries between Washington and Tehran. However, direct negotiations between the U.S. and Iran have not taken place.

“It’s the job of the Pentagon to make preparations in order to give the commander-in-chief maximum optionality. It does not mean the president has made a decision,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

The Pentagon declined to comment, and U.S. Central Command did not provide a statement.

Before U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities last June, Iran was believed to possess more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, and nearly 200 kilograms enriched to 20% — material that can be further refined into weapons-grade fuel.

International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi has indicated that much of the uranium is likely stored at key sites, including an underground tunnel at the Isfahan nuclear complex and another cache at Natanz.

One of the Hezbollah terrorists that Israel eliminated recently in Lebanon had also worked as an journalist who abused his media resources to expose presence of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) by the Israel-Lebanon border, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post. Apart from the terrorist-journalist, Israel also eliminated two senior commanders of Hezbollah.

The IDF killed a Hezbollah terrorist who also worked for Lebanese news outlet Al Manar in an airstrike on Saturday morning.

Ali Hassan Shaib, a terrorist in the intelligence unit of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, also worked for Al Manar, where he used his position as a journalist to expose IDF positions in southern Lebanon and along the border.

The IDF asserted that he maintained contact with terrorists within the Radwan Force and across the broader Hezbollah terrorist organization.

Notably, Al Manar is a Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news outlet and is used by the terror organization to disseminate propaganda.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the incident, claiming that the strike “violates the most basic principles of international law, international humanitarian law, and the laws of war.”

“This is a blatant crime that violates all norms and conventions under which journalists are protected. We call on all international bodies to take action to stop what is happening on our soil,” Aoun added.

IDF kills senior Hezbollah commanders in overnight strikes – Additionally, the IDF carried out overnight strikes in Lebanon that killed two senior Hezbollah commanders and damaged dozens of terror sites across the country.

In a targeted strike in Beirut on Friday, the IDF said it eliminated Ayyoub Hussein Yaacoub, a senior figure in Hezbollah’s communications unit who previously held a key role in the organization’s rocket unit and was involved in directing launches toward Israel.

Yasser Mohammad Mubarak, another senior operative in the group’s communications unit, who also held a position in the rocket unit, was also killed, according to the IDF.

Separately, Israeli forces struck dozens of Hezbollah sites across southern Lebanon throughout the weekend, the military said, targeting weapons depots, launchers, and military infrastructure as part of ongoing efforts to degrade the group’s operational capabilities. The attacks were conducted from both air and sea in support of ground troops operating in the area.

On Saturday afternoon, the IDF issued an evacuation warning to several villages in southern Lebanon and urged residents to relocate north of the Zahrani River. The directive, announced by the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, seems to apply to multiple areas, including Rashidieh, al-Bas, and Wadi Jilo.

Uranium Enrichment Facility And Heavy Water Reactor Of Islamic Terrorist State Iran Hit By Israel

Even as Trump’s America and the Islamic terrorist state of Iran are negotiating, Israel’s Air Force jets successfully struck the uranium enrichment facility as well as the heavy water reactor in different locations of Iran, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post. The operation only shows Iran getting weaker in the war.

Israel attacked Iran’s Khandab heavy water reactor in Arak, as well as a uranium enrichment facility in Ardakan, on Friday, the IDF confirmed.

Over 50 Israel Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, guided by IDF intelligence, completed strikes targeting the Iranian terror regime’s infrastructure across three areas simultaneously, the IDF said.

Earlier Iranian state media reports noted that the enrichment facility in Ardakan produced yellowcake, a concentrated uranium powder used in the early stages of nuclear fuel production.

Later on Friday, a missile struck the Bushehr nuclear plant in Iran, according to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, with no casualties, material damage, or technical disruptions being reported.

Heavy water is a unique material used to operate nuclear reactors – A government official told the Islamic Republic’s semi-official Fars News Agency, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), that no casualties occurred in the reported attack on the heavy water reactor, and that there is no danger to the local population. Fars reported that the facility was struck twice.

“Heavy water is a unique material used to operate nuclear reactors, such as the inactive Arak reactor, which was originally designed to have weapons-grade plutonium production capabilities,” the IDF said. “These materials can also be used as a neutron source for nuclear weapons.“

The military added that the facility, which was hit during the June 2025 war between Israel and Iran, was also a “significant economic asset” for the Iranian regime and generated tens of millions of dollars for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization.

According to the military, Iran worked to rebuild the facility after it was struck nine months ago. It added that the Islamic Republic deliberately avoided a mandate to convert the reactor so that it would not be capable of producing weapons-grade plutonium.

In a statement issued later by the IDF, the military said Friday’s attacks across Iran also targeted a military industry facility used for the production of a variety of weapons, an Iranian Ministry of Defense site used for the development and production of advanced explosive devices, and a site used for the production of components for ballistic missiles and anti-aircraft missiles.

Attacks follow call for evacuation – The attack comes after the IDF called for residents of the northwestern Iranian city of Arak to evacuate ahead of imminent strikes on nearby regime military infrastructure.

The heavy water reactor is located a short distance northwest of the municipality of Arak. The call for evacuation was posted on the IDF’s Persian-language X/Twitter account, and included graphics illustrating the targeted areas and evacuation routes.

The post further called for those in the nearby Khairabad industrial zone to evacuate.

Soon thereafter, the IDF announced that it had begun simultaneous attacks on regime infrastructure in three areas of Iran. It did not specify further on the targets of the attacks.

Iranian media claims strikes on Ardakan yellowcake production facility – Shortly after the strikes on the heavy water research reactor, Iranian state media outlets reported attacks on the yellowcake production facility in Ardakan. The IDF later confirmed it struck the site.

Ardakan is a city in Iran’s Yazd province, which the IDF had struck previously. targeting a central site for producing missiles and sea mines.

The U.S. military marked a major milestone Wednesday, almost four weeks into Operation Epic Fury, recording its 10,000th strike on an Iranian target, U.S. Navy Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, said in an operational update on X.

Cooper said U.S. forces have now carried out more than 10,000 strikes since the campaign began on Feb. 28 and remain “on plan or ahead of plan” in achieving objectives to eliminate Iran’s ability to project power beyond its borders.

Cooper called the performance of long‑range B‑52 bombers and the more than 50,000 U.S. troops involved “embody the courage and resilience” of service members.

Iran has mounted a sustained response with missiles and drones that have struck Israeli territory and U.S. and allied facilities across the Middle East since the conflict began.

Multiple Iranian retaliatory missile barrages have hit locations across Israel, with documented impacts including residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, and one strike on March 1 killed at least nine Israeli civilians.

Iranian missiles and drones have injured thousands of people in Israel, with more than 4,000 reported injured in total.

Iran’s retaliatory strikes have also affected U.S. bases and allied facilities in Gulf states, with missiles flying through regional airspace and causing infrastructure damage, and incidents of drone strikes hitting U.S. Embassy buildings resulting in minor damage.

As of mid‑March, U.S. authorities reported at least 13 U.S. service members killed in the conflict and roughly 232 wounded, with more than 200 of the wounded returning to duty.

Israel approved a proposal to allocate land at the Allenby Complex in Jerusalem for the construction of a permanent United States Embassy on Tuesday.

The approval was announced in a joint statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar, and Construction and Housing Minister Haim Katz.

Netanyahu, Sa’ar, and Katz described the building of the embassy as a “major diplomatic move” originally set in motion by US President Donald Trump’s “courageous and historic decision during his first term to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the US Embassy there.”

The establishment of the permanent embassy will serve as a “tangible, central, and long-term expression of the US’ commitment to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the resilience of the special relationship between the two countries,” the announcement statement continued.

Netanyahu, Sa’ar, and Katz additionally thanked US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee for his cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for working to finalize the decision.
