“ Much of the conversation surrounding artificial intelligence assumes the future belongs to fully autonomous drones. Battlefield experience suggests something more nuanced: soldiers prefer to be in the loop, because fully AI-enabled systems can actually make friendly forces less safe. In actual combat, over sustained periods, fully autonomous systems have trouble distinguishing friendly drones from foe. That confusion can cost battlefield advantage — and lives.

The objective therefore is not to remove humans from the fight; it is to remove unnecessary workload while preserving human judgment where it matters most. Recent Ukrainian interceptor systems automate much of the interception process, yet the operator still selects the target and retains the ability to abort the engagement. Even Ukraine’s most advanced autonomy initiatives preserve meaningful human control over the mission.

Which points to the more interesting question. It is not “how quickly can we take humans out of the loop?” It is “how do we build systems that military professionals actually trust when the shooting starts?” Trust — not autonomy — is likely to be the decisive factor in whether autonomous systems get adopted at all.” (Source: Breaking Defence)

* Руйнування аналітичних моделей ворога: Будь-яка сучасна спецслужба чи військова розвідка (особливо така системна та забюрократизована, як у РФ) будує свої оборонні плани на основі *логіки* та *пріоритетів* опонента. Вони прораховують: «Україні зараз вигідно вдарити по НПЗ, тому посилимо ППО там». Якщо ж з'являється чиста спорадичність (атака на умовний склад цивільних тракторів у глибині Сибіру або другорядний вузол зв'язку, який ні на що не впливає), аналітики ворога просто зламають собі мозок, шукаючи там прихований глибокий сенс.
* Параліч через «перестраховку»: Коли ворог не розуміє системи, він змушений захищати все підряд. Це призводить до колосального розпорошення ресурсів. Вони почнуть стягувати дефіцитні комплекси ППО чи підрозділи охорони туди, де вони взагалі не потрібні, просто тому, що «минулого разу ці божевільні вдарили по аналогічному нелогічному об'єкту».
* Психологічний терор («Доведення до сказу»): Відсутність паттерну (шаблону) породжує первісний страх перед невідомим. Коли є логіка війни, ти розумієш ризики. Коли логіки немає, виникає відчуття, що прилетіти може куди завгодно і коли завгодно, без жодної раціональної причини.
### ⚠ Головні виклики та ризики реалізації
* Проблема «чистої випадковості»: Людський мозок генетично не здатний діяти абсолютно випадково. Навіть якщо оператори проєкту «Душніли» будуть намагатися обирати випадкові цілі, вони підсвідомо схилятимуться до певних шаблонів. Щоб досягти реального «туману війни», вибір мішеней мав би здійснюватися буквально за допомогою комп'ютерного алгоритму з елементами чистого рандому (наприклад, кидання кубиків за мапою об'єктів).
* Ціна ресурсу vs. Ефект: Далекобійні засоби (дрони, ракети, агентурна мережа) — це дорогий і дефіцитний ресурс. Здійснювати пуск за мільйон доларів по об'єкту вартістю в три копійки заради самого лише психологічного ефекту — це розкіш, яку важко виправдати перед суспільством чи донорами під час затяжної війни. Ефект «душніння» має бути дешевшим у реалізації, ніж вартість нервових клітин і ресурсів ворога, які він витратить на реакцію.
* Повна автономність: Найважче в такій структурі — утримати її від «скатування» у спільний порядок денний. Рано чи пізно командування захоче сказати: «Слухайте, ваші дрони летять кудись в тайгу, а нам треба терміново підтримати фронт під Покровськом, дайте нам ваші ресурси». Забезпечити 100% незалежність у реальних військових реаліях — це надскладне політичне завдання.
### 🛠 Як це могло б виглядати на практиці?
Щоб проєкт не просто витрачав ресурси, а реально працював як зброя хаосу, вибір цілей дійсно мав би підкорятися правилу: «Жодної військово-економічної логіки, лише географічна досяжність».
Це створення ідеального «білого шуму», на тлі якого розвідка ворога пропустить реальні, системні та логічні удари основних Сил оборони.

"According to a seating chart seen by +972 Magazine, a “Maven Field Service Representative” has been present at the CMCC. Built by the U.S. tech company Palantir, whose logo was visible in presentations given inside the Center, Maven collects and analyses surveillance data taken from warzones to speed-up U.S. military operations, including lethal airstrikes. The platform sucks information from satellites, spy planes, drones, intercepted telecommunications, and the internet, and “packages it into a common, searchable app for commanders and support groups,” according to U.S. defense outlets.

The U.S. military calls Maven its “AI-powered battlefield platform.” It has already been deployed to guide U.S. airstrikes across the Middle East, including in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Palantir has marketed its technology as shortening the process of identifying and bombing military targets — what the company’s CTO recently described as “optimizing the kill chain.” Over the summer, Palantir scored a $10 billion contract to update and refine the Maven platform for U.S. armed forces.

Palantir has also worked closely with Israel’s military since January 2024, when the two parties entered into a “strategic partnership” for “war related missions.” The company has been aggressively recruiting employees to staff its Tel Aviv office, which first opened in 2015 and has expanded significantly over the last two years. Justifying its stalwart commitment to Israel in spite of mounting charges of war crimes and genocide, Palantir CEO Alex Karp recently said his company was the first to be “completely anti-woke.”"
