Do you want to know how I can so easily tell when someone's use of the hashtag #Jew or #Jewish is antisemitic when reference to the Israel/Palestine conflict? When they use Jew or Jewish but then use #Palestinian and not #Muslim or #Arab.
If the hashtag were merely descriptive of those involved, they'd surely use both right?

Not typically a fan of Rabbi Ruttenberg, but this is an interesting, provocative thought-piece.
"Nobody would think twice about demanding a #reasonableaccommodation if #corporations asked #Jews to start violating #Shabbat or partaking of the #pork BBQ at the #company retreat against their own practice. And while I would not demand that every #Jew request such an #accommodation (for Shabbat or keeping #kosher), they should absolutely have that option available, even if their #religious practice is a work in progress. So too, here.
And despite seeing many people (including religious Jews!) eliding the moral and religious issues around #AI because "that train has already left the station," we should make choices based on whether they are right or wrong. Also, it's a fallacy: Movements grow from dissent."

The decision by the nation’s highest court to take up the case is considered highly unusual in the #American #legal system, as the Supreme Court hears only about 50 cases a year.
The dispute began in 2021. Grand, who lives in #UniversityHeights, wanted to pray with a #minyan, the quorum of 10 Jewish men required for certain communal prayers. Because Jewish law prohibits driving on #Shabbat and holidays, and the local #synagogue was too far away to reach on foot, he decided to host worshippers in his private home."

He has sent a steady stream of text and email blasts comparing AIPAC with Wall Street and crypto — a new, unholy trinity of corrupting influences in democratic politics.

#Supremacism in #anime never seems to understand how #prejudice works. the "inferior" beats/saves the supremacist. In anime: Oh my certainty of superiority must be wrong, I should reexamine ALL of my biases. Reality: Oh there is one exception to the rule, the rest of them are still trash but there is always an exception to every rule.
One of the things the #Reich did when ordering the final solution was to tell people that "we all know that ONE good Jew, but they must be sacrificed for the greater good as the majority are all terrible and we can't let one terrible #jew escape. There were people who were crying as they signed the orders for the final solution knowing their were murdering their former friends but did it anyway.
#Hitler even helped his #jewish doctor escape before many got sent to the concentration camps 10 years before the final solution. People ALL know there is an exception to the rules in stereotypes that's exactly why they can stay racists. Anime has a very over simplistic concept of #xenophobia and it wasn't until recently that I could put my finger on why those stories rubbed me the wrong way, not enough to stop watching them but enough to articulate everything wrong with them. #racism #racists -
