  1. Every now and then an opening track touches on perfection, almost reaching through speakers to grab listeners with unusually perfect production and arrangement. I'm always on the lookout for them.

Some retro examples I admire enough to feel they are classic are U2's 'Where The Streets Have No Name', John Grant's grippingly immersive and sonically playful 'Pale Green Ghosts', Grace Jones's 'Walking In The Rain', Fiona Apple's enchanting 'Extraordinary Machine', George Michael's 'Faith', Kate Bush's awe-inspiring epic 'Running Up That Hill', Madonna's 'Hung Up', Scissor Sisters' 'Laura', Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On', Eurythmics' 'Here Comes The Rain Again', Propaganda's ' 'Dream Within A Dream', Goldfrapp's 'Ooh La La' and so many more.

I'd say the 'So Ambiguous' opener from the latest excellent Röyksopp album is pretty perfect.
