It is remarkable how much The Jam evolved in such a short time.
They went from raw, aggressive Mod-Punk to Post Punk and Art-Rock in only 3 years.I did a bit of research because all of this reminded me a lot of The Smiths and I learned that Morrissey was obsessed with the band, and the song "That's Entertainment" in particular.

Setting Sons is exceptional! Wow, what an album!
It starts kind of slow but it really picks up the pace and energy towards the end. It's packed with fantastic songs. Smithers-Jones, The Eaton Rifles, Heatwave, Little Boy Soldiers... wow, just wow!

I saw this at an antique store the other day... a Radio Shack crystal radio kit, with what appears to be a drawing of The Jam on the box. (Definitely looks like Bruce Foxton on bass!) I think I might have had one of these sets, but I don't think mine came in this box!

The LP3 has led me, willingly, to The Jam’s tricky second album. Actually the first Jam album I ever heard, and it is still as energetic and ground breaking as it was back then. Superb. The teenage Weller became a true song writer with this album and it was a taste of what was to come with All Mod Cons. The Jam were/are a hugely important band to me, and I still love them so much. #vinyl #TheJam #NowPlaying #ThisIsTheModernWorld
