#EleanorRigby - "I Want To Sleep With You" (1986)

Along side a pair of nicely fitted sharkskin trousers and a neato fold-out shop catalogue (feat. Eleanor modelling their latest clothes), I picked this single up in a #mod clothing shop off #CarnabyStreet in London whilst on holiday ca. 1986. Could mine have been the only copy of this #ModRevival single to make it all the way to sunny Southern California back then? Perhaps. But who the heck was Eleanor Rigby? I suspect @revivalrecords might know the full story.

I was listening to Cool for Cats by Squeeze and not really digging like half of it despite really liking some of their later albums and I had the thought "I'd probably be happier listening to The Jam" so that's how I ended up turning on In The City and having a better time.

The Jam played their last-ever gig as a band when they appeared in Brighton, England, December 11, 1982.

Frontman Paul Weller went on to form The Style Council and later had a successful solo career.
