#PortlandOR (KOIN) – "Tuesday is the last day to register to vote in #Oregon for the November election.

"A big push right now in Oregon and #Washington is making sure your #MailInBallot is protected when it is on its way to be counted.

"With ballots heading out starting Wednesday, election leaders in both states are taking extra precautions after explosive devices destroyed ballot boxes in #Multnomah and #Clark counties during the 2024 election season.

Two years later, despite having security video from near one of the ballot boxes, no one has been arrested."

  7. Police violence in Portland in the summer of 2020 cost the city (i.e., taxpayers) at least $2.7 million in lawsuits and settlements.

That's the same police bureau later found in contempt of court for violating a June 2020 court order against the indiscriminate use of tear gas.

  11. How much longer will YOU let the Domestic Terrorism to go on?

    What is "Domestic Terrorism"?
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic says:
"Domestic terrorism or homegrown terrorism is a form of terrorism in which victims "within a country are targeted by a perpetrator with the same citizenship" as the victims. There are various different definitions of terrorism, with no universal agreement about it.

Unlike domestic terrorism, state terrorism is that perpetrated by nation states, but is not considered such by the state conducting it, making legality a grey area."

    What is "Sweeping homeless people"?
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeless
"A homeless encampment sweep is the forced removal of homeless people and their property from a public area. It may include routine sanitation cleanups, which displace homeless residents for a few hours, to the permanent dislocation of individuals or communities. Often called "encampment resolutions" or "clean-ups" by local governments, they are alternatively labeled "sweeps" by advocacy groups."

So, Why fuck are you allowing this UN-constitional practice to go on??? Vets swore to defend the country against this shit, WHY THE FUCK ARE MY FELLOW VETS NOT STANDING UP???

Officials point to shelters as a step toward reducing homelessness, but fail to consider the factors pushing people away

by Mikayla Mesko September 3, 2026

    An alternative vision to shelters

"The family shelter at Path Home takes these factors into account and addresses them by utilizing a trauma-informed care approach.

" 'Trauma-informed care is basically the understanding of what’s going on in the brain when someone experiences something as stressful as homelessness,' Tuck said.

"Path Home is the first shelter in Oregon planned with intentional trauma-informed design and architecture, Tuck said.

"Things like the materials used in the architecture and the quality of the furniture all play a role.

" 'So, it’s things like a big connection to nature,' Tuck said. 'We have real plants, indoors and outdoors, everywhere. It’s about natural materials — we use real wood floors. Lots of natural light. We have stone and water features.'

"Privacy and comfort are also important factors that Path Home takes into account.

" 'All the families have their own individual private bedrooms with doors that lock, so they have true privacy,' Tuck said. 'And they have real beds and real furniture and tables and chairs. They’re not sleeping on mats or cots.' "

  13. #PortlandOR - #StopTheSweeps

    October 4, 2026
    10 am - 4pm
On The Plaza in St. Johns

"Join us at the St Johns Plaza AKA The Square from 10am to 4pm on Oct 4, for our 90 day celebration of protesting to stop this tax money waste!!!

    What is Domestic Terrorism?

St. Johns Boosters, Portland Police Department, Central Lofts and Rapid Response Bio-Clean. These organizations have conspired to make an already difficult life even more so for our #houseless community members. They have worked to:

    1. Continue the sweeps by the Portland Police Bureau and Rapid Response of the #houseless population in general and, specifically, the 150+ day protest by members of the houseless community on the Plaza, in violation of their 1st, 4th, and 8th Amendment rights guaranteed under the Constitution.

    2. Close the Day Center that so many relied on for basic services and a path out of #homelessness.

    3. Establish an Enhanced Services District whose main purpose is to police the houseless population out of St. Johns in an effort to fully gentrify our community.

These are not the responses of a caring community. Our response should be, 'What can we, as a community, do to solve the crises so many are facing?' St. Johns has shown the power to activate and advocate for numerous issues, including Trans rights, No Kings, and Anti-Ice. Let us bring the same passion to the Plaza on Sunday, October 4 to show our houseless community members we do care.

Please: Bring non-perishable food items, sanitary products, and winter clothes to contribute to the community."

It's been about a week and while this post got a lot of attention, it only generated a single lead, which was a job in Europe. I am pursuing some opportunities I've found elsewhere, but I'm not sure how close I am to paying the bills each month. If you would like to support me as I try to find an ethical way to make a living while sharing my knowledge, please consider donating at one of the links below:

Once I finish getting set up in my new place you will see more of me again as I return to producing videos about my research. I'm not sure whether I will livestream again since I'm on #PeerTube instead of #Twitch or #YouTube, but there will definitely be medium-length videos. A great way to keep me doing this kind of stuff is to donate to me so that it makes economic sense for me to do so. I'm trying to live a simple lifestyle, so even $20 is a big help.

  15. Portland Police chief accused of violating state law by criticizing city councilor’s past tweets
    by Alex Zielinski

Did Portland Police Chief Bob Day break the law when he criticized a city councilor last week? That’s a question several Portlanders are asking state officials to answer.

At least two people have filed complaints against Day with the Secretary of State’s office in the past week. Both alleged that Day used his position as a public employee to “promote or oppose” a person’s election campaign, in violation of a state law.

“Election meddling is what it looks like to me,” said Nate Haberman, a Portland attorney who filed one of the complaints against Day last Friday.

The Police Bureau declined to comment.

The complaints center on a press release Day issued from his office last week, condemning comments that Councilor Mitch Green had posted — and deleted — prior to running for elected office in 2024.

Green’s statements, posted to X, the website then known as Twitter in 2020 and 2021, were critical of police amid the racial justice protests spurred by a Minneapolis police officer killing George Floyd.

Day wrote that, because of these since-deleted statements, “I have a responsibility to say that I no longer have confidence that this Councilor is evaluating the Police Bureau reasonably and objectively.”

Green is running for reelection in November.

This is why Haberman and Portlander Jonathan Tasini, a labor advocate who ran for city council in 2024, each sent complaints to the secretary of state’s office. They believe Day violated the state statute.

“Because the harm of Chief Day’s apparent violation of ORS 260.432 is immediate—it has entered into the discourse of the upcoming election—I request the State conduct the investigation with the utmost urgency,” wrote Tasini.

A spokesperson with the secretary of state’s office told OPB that the department’s elections division has not yet determined whether they’ll investigate the concerns.

Haberman, who lives in Green’s District 4, said Day’s comments felt like a threat.

“So, am I going to get punished if I don’t vote for what Day wants?” asked Haberman, who said he plans to vote for Green. “Is my neighborhood going to get mistreated by police if we re-elect Green?”

Tasini is also a Green supporter; he donated to Green’s campaign in June.

Concerns about city employees’ politicking aren’t unusual. In fact, Green himself was the subject of a complaint last month, when several Portlanders claimed he had wrongly used his city Instagram account to promote his reelection campaign. The city auditor’s office formally dismissed this complaint.

Both Tasini and Haberman also filed complaints with the city’s Bureau of Human Resources, alleging Day violated a rule that prohibits city employees from participating in any kind of political activity. The city’s human resources office did not immediately respond to OPB’s request for comment.
