Orange Krush and Easter Yellow Splatter vinylI was a huge fan of Ceremony’s 2015 album The L-Shaped Man, so needless to say I was very excited to hear this follow up when it came 4 years later.
I was pleasantly surprised by the evolution here, stylistically speaking. It’s got a bit of that #postpunk vibe I loved from L-Shaped, but leans a little more into melodic, synthy #newwave vibes a bit.
It’s catchy, yes, but still very nervous sounding, and it to my ears, works wonderfully.
Pretty good record to start my day with.

“Fearless” still blows my mind after all these years, and what’s left to say about “Echoes” that hasn’t already been said?

I came to Ray Price via Willie Nelson, who did a tribute album of Ray Price songs (For the Good Times) and a 1980 duet album with Ray Price (San Antonio Rose). Great traditional / classic country songwriting and performance. I picked this up along with the previously posted Candy Snatchers record from a used bin for DIRT cheap.
A pretty good compilation here, with all of Goulden’s essential tracks on it, but he will always be remembered for the song “I'd Go The) Whole Wide World”, a song that was produced by Nick Lowe, and pretty recently had a resurgence when it appeared in a 2022 Expedia ad that featured Ewan McGregor.
I hope that the checks cleared, and both Eric and Ewan were very happy.All that being said, there’s a handful of OTHER really fun tunes on here like “Take The Cash (K.A.S.H)”, “Let's Go To The Pictures “ and “Veronica”.

1979 Canada pressingIt’s a beautiful Fall day outside today, so I went downtown to soak up the ambience, and picked up a few records.
I picked this up along with the previously posted Candy Snatchers record from a used bin for DIRT cheap.
A pretty good compilation here, with all of Goulden’s essential tracks on it, but he will always be remembered for the song “I'd Go The) Whole Wide World”, a song that was produced by Nick Lowe, and pretty recently had a resurgence when it appeared in a 2022 Expedia ad that featured Ewan McGregor.
I hope that the checks cleared, and both Eric and Ewan were very happy.All that being said, there’s a handful of OTHER really fun tunes on here like “Take The Cash (K.A.S.H)”, “Let's Go To The Pictures “ and “Veronica”.
BONUS: Inside was a ticket stub for a 2004 WE show at The Railway Club!
