Such a killer (and criminally underrated) #psychedelic rock record, & Sundazed really outdid themselves here.

An EXCELLENT sounding mono reissue from the original analog master by Kevin Gray, but where this separates itself is the bonus record.

A completely different version of the album was found when they rediscovered the tapes.
THOSE are alternate instrumental versions of the record (which are mixed in stereo here), and they really show how these great tunes were constructed.
Bass player Glenn Cass’s playing is much more up front on the instrumentals, and he only heard them for the first time during the reissue’s prep.

This is just a killer record, & maybe it’s definitive version.

I was a huge fan of Ceremony’s 2015 album The L-Shaped Man, so needless to say I was very excited to hear this follow up when it came 4 years later.

I was pleasantly surprised by the evolution here, stylistically speaking. It’s got a bit of that #postpunk vibe I loved from L-Shaped, but leans a little more into melodic, synthy #newwave vibes a bit.

It’s catchy, yes, but still very nervous sounding, and it to my ears, works wonderfully.

It’s always gonna be my go-to Floyd record, particularly around THIS time of year.

“Fearless” still blows my mind after all these years, and what’s left to say about “Echoes” that hasn’t already been said?

Have been thinking about listening to this all day while out and about town taking care of some things.

Hands down, one of my three favorite Neil Young albums.

There’s a magic about Le Noise.

Daniel Lanois’ production approach to this is nothing short of remarkable.

This is nothing but Neil singing and playing electric guitar, and by using distortion, echo, delays, feedback and other processing, Lanois transforms the performances into something otherworldly.

Neil’s guitar sounds so massive, and with all the sonics going on around it, it makes for a wonderfully noisy (and riffy) album indeed.

For me, it’s essential listening in Neil’s catalog, regardless of era.

When I took this out to play it, I forgot about the DVD inside that came with it.

These are going for stupid $ right now.

Neil’s guitar sounds so massive, and with all the sonics going on around it, it makes for a wonderfully noisy (and riffy) album indeed.

For me, it’s essential listening in Neil’s catalog, regardless of era.

When I took this out to play it, I forgot about the DVD inside that came with it.

Hands down, one of my three favorite Neil Young albums.

The other day, I posted a great compilation of #60s Japanese Group Sounds bands (the one with Godzilla on the cover), and it drove me downtown to pick THIS one up and give it a try.

The Spiders are here (GREAT BAND!), as well as some killer songs by The Playboy, Cougars, and The Burns.

The only bummer is this; due to length, there are five songs that appeared on the original CD that do not appear here.
These are the things that happen when you’re dealing with unofficial bootleg records.
Would have been nice to get a complete version spread across 2xLPs, but cost effectiveness wins again, I guess.

Great record otherwise.
