Shadow recorded the album with nothing but an Akai MPC60 II sampler, a few turntables, and a ton of obscure vinyl records, chopping tiny pieces of those records into entirely new compositions.

SO NEW in fact, that they don’t actually feel like samples. That’s how fucking good it is.

42 years ago today, September 22, 1984, Steve Wariner debuted at #79 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart w/ "Don't You Give Up on Love”. It went on to peak at #49 and spent a total of 10 weeks on the chart.

This was Steve Wariner's last single released on RCA Records before moving over to MCA Records and achieving incredible success with them into the early 1990s.

The first listen, I said “this is awful”.

The second, I said “Jesus, what the fuck?”

Third… “I kinda dig this…”

To finally surrendering with “This is fucking awesome.” 😂

TOTALLY unhinged #hardcore #noise #punk whose sense of timing, rhythm, & madness I fully identify with.

This is the complete recorded output of the Fort Worth, Texas band; roughly one hour long, blasting through 30 songs of complete screamo violence.

It is wildly frantic, super-abrasive, and intensely chaotic. There is no singing. Just indecipherable high-pitched screaming amongst grating feedback and thick bass.

The first listen, I said “this is awful”.

The second, I said “Jesus, what the fuck?”

Third… “I kinda dig this…”

To finally surrendering with “This is fucking awesome.” 😂

Super-awesome etching on Side D, too, which may be the most calm and measured thing about this. 😂

This was in my ears a lot at the beginning of each year of high school.
I had detention A LOT, and had a very long walk home from school after time served. I will always have a clear picture of walking up Oak St., this blasting in my ears, while the autumn New England leaves flew around.
