I recently picked up BOTH of these new “Best…” reissues a week ago, & was waiting to be in the right mood to play them.
Today’s a good day to do so. I’ve been playing a lot of bands and albums that, to me, have always gone hand & hand with the Fall weather, & The Smiths belong in that category for sure.

Best…I is an embarrassment of riches, & if I’m to be completely honest, I probably don’t have much use for Best…II.
That’s how loaded this one is.

Every song here is great, while the other has more than a few bunk tracks on it.

But… completist’s mentality & all…

You know how it is. 😂

I have been clobbered over the head with bands like The Stones, Beatles, The Who, and Led Zeppelin over and over again, and I just don’t care to hear those band’s records any more.

There are a few exceptions to this sentiment, and Let It Bleed is certainly one of them.
It is hands down my favorite Stones record, and I will ALWAYS be down to listen to it.
It is the only record of theirs that I just never got burnt out on, and I will continue to listen to it until I’m dead.

One of the greatest album openers of all time, and you can say the same about the CLOSING track as well.
Combined with “You Got The Silver” (maybe my favorite Stones song ever) and “Midnight Rambler”, it’s my forever Stones album.
