  1. What surprised her was how many of her students, "whether they were an introvert or extrovert, indicated that they wanted to continue practicing intentionality. This illustrates an important life lesson; when we are deliberate in showing kindness β€” even through simple conversations β€” it benefits us as much as the recipient."

"I noticed pretty quickly that these small interactions actually seemed to make a difference, especially in a place like the hospital [where I work] where almost everyone is a little stressed," observed Saskia Guikema. "It reinforced something I already believed: People really do appreciate being remembered. Something as simple as using someone's name or taking a few extra minutes to listen can actually mean a lot."

  6. Thanks to BR - Bayerischer Rundfunk and ARD for inviting me to speak about the topic β€œCan AI lie? How manipulative are chatbots” in an episode of the IQ -Wissenschaft und Forschung Podcast.

We discussed some recent studies on "deception abilities" in LLMs and I am happy to see that what me and colleagues Benjamin Lange and Katharina Prof. Dr. Zweig had to say wasn't condensed into the clickbait headlines it could have been used for and was rather used to raise awareness about limitations of GenAI and human control and responsibility to decide where to use LLMs and where *not to*.

Some aspects discussed were #hallucinations, #sycophancy, the definition of what a #lie implies, an understanding of #truth, #theory of #mind, #intentionality, and consciousness.

  7. Dare to be Disconnected.

We are living in a permanent state of emergency, where every notification feels like a demand and every scroll feels like a duty. We have mistaken being informed for being engaged.

True presence is a revolutionary act in an attention economy. When you disconnect, you are not missing out. You are opting back into the physical world. You are choosing the air in the room, the weight of a book, or the person sitting across from you

Silence is not an empty space. Instead, look at it as it is where your own thoughts get a chance to be heard.

What would happen if you gave your full attention to something that couldn't give you a notification in return?

  8. Dare to be forgotten.

We have all been trained to think if we did not document it, it did not happen. We have turned our actual lives into content, constantly performing for an audience that isn't even really watching.

There is freedom in the undocumented. If you stop worrying about how a moment looks, you will start noticing how it actually feels. You no longer ask, "How will this look?" and instead ask, "How does this feel?"

Privacy is not just having secrets. It is having a life that belongs to you and not a data center. Some things should not be for sale. Some things are better when they are just yours.

What if the most important thing you did today was something nobody ever found out about?

  10. Dare to be inconvenienced.

We have been trained to prioritize "seamless" experiences over ethical ones. But every convenience has a hidden cost, whether it is labor rights, environmental impact, or the erosion of privacy.

Efficiency is a metric for machines, not for a meaningful life. When we stop choosing products solely for their convenience, we reclaim our agency. We choose local over global, human over algorithm, and sustainable over instant.

What would happen if we stopped using services that do very little good for society, even if it means taking the long way around?

  11. β˜•οΈ Brewing Connection & Building Worlds πŸŒ€ 1 of 2
(intro for those new to me & invite for all already connected)

Hi, I'm Crissy! By day, I'm your Chief Empathy Officer & Architect of Transformational Wellness (and a 2x founder). My world is all about guiding collective healing, building joyful, inclusive connections through my Good Partner Hygiene framework, and inspiring conscious living for a more sustainable future.

When I'm not deep in the world of tech and human connection, you'll find my heart woven into art and design 🎨, producing work that delights and inspires.

I'm a proud pet parent to my amazing 17-year-old rescue cat 🐾, a lover of dark chocolate, sakura trees, and catching "Howl's Moving Castle" for the 100th time. Bonus points if you appreciate a good coffee and chocolate croissant!

  13. "Intentional kindness: humanity's superpower" - Futurist Jim Carroll, with a shoutout to Drew Sullivan, APB Speakers

The image in today's Inspiration features my good friend Michael Simon; the phrase, "intentional kindness," comes from one of my speaker bureau agents, Drew Sullivan. One teaches us the importance of finding moments of joy when we need it most and the importance of 'giving back'; the other involves intentionally making those moments of joy for others because they truly matter.

It's a long post, but I want you to read it.

Why? We seem to be living in a world in which the core values of human decency seem to be disappearing at the speed with which societal norms are unraveling. As an example, I have read that one of the latest trends with the tech oligarchs - folks like Elon Musk and the young men who worship them - is that they find it to be fashionable to use denigrating words and phrases. They seem to think that it is all one big joke and that somehow, this provides them a boost to their 'machismo' - far from it. Most recently, their childish immaturity has extended to the regular use of the 'retard,' as if that somehow empowers them and makes them stronger

I do not know what darkness lies in the depths of their soul, but I know I and others will fight this darkness with all our might.

So let me start with my friend Michael. Here's a photo from a few weeks ago when we were both wrapping up a wonderful ski day.

I've known Michael since he was 2 years old.

Now 29, he is a special needs young adult who has a unique genetic condition that has limited his full abilities - and yet, he has achieved capabilities that experts have said might never be possible.  It was said he could never ski - he learned to ski. It was said he would never be able to master a snowboard. Today, he 'shreds' with the best of them.

He has accomplished many other things in his life - and he has the most infectious smile of any person I have ever known.

You can't see Michael smile and, in these moments of despair, worry, and concern, find some joy some sort of joy creeping into your own heart. Michael's smile is a crucible of joy and a cauldron of inspiration.

We all need more moments like this. We should all find the joy around us because those are the moments that matter. You can help to 'generate it by getting involved, giving back, and supporting those who are under attack, marginalized, or who need attention and help. That's why social causes are even more important today than they were before.
