A few pics from my final MA show, more later when I'm less exhausted. Two finished little books, one made with etchings the other with wood engraving prints, all the original prints on display together with the original plates, tools, ink tubes and cloths, cushions made from the etchings and benches with text from one of the books, a little hidden fox that lives under a book, and lots of other things not in these pics 💫

I went to see the #Escher #exhibition in #SommersetHouse #London

Very precise and intricate #PrintMaking! Beautiful #WoodblockPrints

The show was a bit too gimicky for my liking. There was a lot of interactive sideshows for taking Escher inspired selfies. That was fine except it slowed the flow of people down and left a queue of people down the middle of some rooms.

It made it more crowded and it was quite stuffy in there.

But great art!

Something else lovely.

Our whole house is full of art – old and new, created by us or by others – music or pictures.
Among other things, this beautiful etching, which depicts the entrance to Augustusburg Palace in the Ore Mountains. A lovely place and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A friend pointed out to me that the artist is still alive and lives in a care home in Ölsnitz. Her name is Mechthild Pöhler and her birthday is in August.
