  1. Most airlines still won't issue tickets in Apple or Google wallets. Instead, they give you two options: print and waste paper (making you feel guilty), or download our beautiful apps, where we can make even more upselling of shitty sandwiches on board and bomb you with notifications every two hours about a marvellous weekend in a forgotten city in Lithuania.

Unexpectedly, you could expect this behaviour from Ryanair, but actually, no. This behaviour is especially common among flag carriers, whereas low-cost carriers usually offer on-device wallet support.

  2. Via AvBrief.com:

Something any paraglider pilot never wants to see, a canopy full of Cessna 182 Skylane.

The 182 destroyed the canopy, pilot threw the chute and made it to the ground alive.

If the Cessna was 10 feet lower, this story would not have had a great ending.

"The paraglider pilot didn’t report any injuries to the first responders who fetched her off the mountain but she did go for treatment for minor injuries later on."

  7. 🚀✨ Wow, #Japan invented a magical #flying thingy that turns 14-hour flights into 2-hour sprints! Because who doesn't want to experience jet lag on steroids? 😂✈️

  8. Terrifying experience. Good reminder to always have your seatbelt fastened when flying.

"The flight from London’s Heathrow to Singapore on May 21, 2024, hit an unexpected updraught over south-west Myanmar, propelling it higher and faster before a rapid plunge.

"The force hurled unbuckled passengers and flight attendants preparing breakfast into the ceiling and through the cabin. They didn’t have time to react to the seatbelt sign."

  9. Still dodging +RA, +TS and +GR thru the Midwest "storm corridor" in my #Xplane #flightsim #Cirrus SG50 Vision Jet.

Dropped some fares in Cedar Rapids, IA (KCID) last night, and took another load south to Jackson, MS (KJAN) tonight.

Made it in fine, this sim plane is rock solid. But for some unknown reason, the sim is planting crashed helicopters pretty often on the ramps. Here, a Sikorsky S-76 buried itself deep into the concrete, will not buff out.

  16. Ha I've landed at one of these: Stockholm Skavsta (on a flight from Poland). From memory, the transfer to the city took longer than the flight.

Serves us all right, in Europe we should be catching the train! Or a ferry.

"Anyone who has used budget airlines in Europe will be familiar with the curse of the inconvenient airport: often a smaller alternative to the main hub that lures in the likes of carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air by offering cheaper landing fees."
