Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌍 I'm up early with the parrots today after another night without falling off the world. I still have a slightly queasy feeling all the time, but hopefully that will soon pass too.
Ziggy was inspecting my work again as I cleaned their cages, giving it "Uh huh" and coming down to the grid to look at my work before pooping on the floor - as her tray was out at the time - yelling "Poop!" cheerfully, and chuckling away to herself 🙂 Not only do I have to get up at the crack of Dawn to slave away for them, but I get mocked while doing it - outrageous! 😂
Plans for today are co-op BG3 with my eldest grandson if he gets up early enough to join us, or with just Grant and I if he doesn't. I did end up gaming yesterday rather than cleaning out that cupboard, but in my defense @JustFi made me do it 😂 And a good thing too as I had a nice time playing Aether and Iron and not doomscrolling election news. Thanks Fi! 😁
Have a very lovely Saturday, whatever it is you get up to today 🤗

Good morning my Fine Fedi Friends 💕 I had an interesting night trying not to fall off the world while lying down, but am glad to say the vertigo has eased off somewhat and I even managed to get some sleep. Very fuzzy headed this morn, but up for the parrots and mostly functional.
Ziggy is currently down the side of the couch under my cardigan digging her hole to China again. They tell you not to encourage nesting behaviour, but "they" have never had to deal with a determined parrot! I do try to distract her, but it only works for a short space of time and then she's right back at it again. My latest attempt to distract her ended up with her crawling up the sleeve of my cardigan and then nipping the soft flesh on the inside of my arm until I was forced to shake myself and her out. Crime scene photo attached 😂
Still, hunger beats hormones and she has now gone in for breakfast like the hungry little chaos monster she is. 🙂
Plans for today are to work on the competition toy and sew up Ziggy's cage cover where it has been ripped causing her to peek out of the hole at the top at night and comment on what I am doing when she is supposed to be sleeping.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

🦜🗣️ A study of over 800 #birds showed that #parrots use human names as labels for specific individuals in their households.
Researchers found that the birds vocalize these names during social interactions such as greetings or when seeking attention. The behavior indicates that parrots cognitively associate specific #sounds with individual #people and #animals.

Good morning Fellow Travellers on the Galactic Spiral Arm 🌌 I'm up early with the parrots today and Ziggy is currently sitting on top of my head saying "It's okay" to herself over and over as we apparently have ghosts in the living room again this morning 🤷🏻♀️ She scrambled up there - her safe place - as soon as she came out of the cage and hasn't budged since. I can see absolutely nothing that looks different or out of place, so it's definitely ghosts 😊
It's BG3 day, but we won't be playing co-op today as Grant is going to a craft beer festival with a couple of old school mates he hasn't seen since the same festival last year. So, I shall be playing my single campaign instead. Well, I say my single campaign, but really it's my latest single campaign, me having started over a number of times now. I'm determined to make this one the finishing campaign though... probably 😂
I am sticking with my current game in Stardew Valley though (the urge to start again is strong, but I am resisting it) which I'll play while I have my coffee. I'm in year 4 and have a whole big shed dedicated to mannequins for all the clothing I am making. A girl has to be well dressed while building her wine making empire after all 😁
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to , have lots of fun 🤗

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm just up from a nice long lie, woken by the dulcet tones of Ziggy shouting the place down for some reason. Grant says he was fast asleep on the couch and she woke him up too. After a raucous greeting she has calmed right down again though and is happily chewing on her plastic links on her high perch at the back of her cage ☺️
Toby is now screaming at me though and I am nowhere near awake enough to deal with that ear bleeding noise, so I may have to move. No such thing as a Silent Sunday when you have parrots that's for sure 😂
Plans for today are crochet and watching people play Stardew Valley so doubt. Might even play a little SDV myself first though.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots today and have just put Ziggy in after a brief cuddle, and some biting, since this morning she has decided that my right hand offends her and has been attacking it. No idea what the poor hand has done to deserve this, but she's rightly miffed by it that's for sure. I often think that they should send us parrot people to the first encounter with an alien race. We're definitely the most experienced in alien behaviour that's for sure 😂
I finally managed to track down the missing yarn delivery that Royal Mail say I had asked to be left in my safe place ( I hadn't since we were home all day) which turned out to be stuffed behind a neighbour's pot plant on their back step, so I'll be able to make a start on the competition toy tomorrow as well as working on the latest crochet order.
Today is co-op BG3 day though. Last week we had an absolute blast in the Mausoleum, figuring out puzzles and taking on, and defeating the Orthon, which was really tough - both Gale and Shadowheart were dead by the end and Ethera perilously close to it. Even Grognak was on low health and not a healing spell or potion between us. But we managed it in the end; Ethera using her flying ability to stay out of reach of the merregons and recasting Call Lighting and Grognak just battering the heck out of everything 😊 Looking forward to more adventures today!
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to. Have fun. It's the elixir of Life 🤗

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm just up from a good long lie as Grant got up for the birds today. I always feel a bit guilty about lying in, but I was nice and dozy this morning for sure. I was going to sit in the living room and have a coffee, but Toby had other ideas, screaming at me constantly, and I'm really not nearly awake enough yet for *that* so I am now in the dining room, chased from my own comfy couch by a parrot 🥴 Grant is still dozing on the couch mind you, Toby having no problem with him being there!
No real plans for today other than the usual Sunday chores. Maybe a catch up later with my sisters and daughter on the phone. I need to start looking out yarn for the competition toy too. (This is where I no doubt find out I don't have enough of the correct colours and have to order more as is always the way 😂)
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌍 I am up early with the parrots again and currently being preened by Ziggy who asked me to go and fetch her meds mix, then promptly ignored the spoon and did her own thing 😊 She grumbles away while preening me, almost as if saying "Look at the state of you! I just did this last night too." I obviously get myself into an unpreened state overnight, which isn't acceptable to Zigs.
She's now gone in for breakfast after finally taking her meds with a detour to hide down the side of the couch going "Tee hee hee" as she did so and then popping up with a "Ceek-a-boo!" Obvious pleased with the reaction she then demanded to "Come! Come!", but stopped eating and shouted at me until I made my coffee and came back. Satisfied, she is now happily eating and by the frequency of "Mmm" s and "Good!" s must be enjoying it 😁
Plans for today are either co-op or single campaign BG3 depending on whether Grant wants to play or if the lure of Cyberpunk is too much for him today. We'll see.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots again today and am currently sitting having a lovely wee cuddle with Ziggy, who christened the java tree yesterday! In her attempts to avoid being put back into her cage after the vet visit she flew over and landed on it and then tested every branch all the while making her "Tee hee hee" sounds ☺️ She's not been on it since, but now she knows she can escape to it I'm sure we'll see more use.
All the parrots are in fine fettle this morning after their "Adventure Time" yesterday. It's a big ordeal for them so they were tucked up to roost by 5 PM yesterday totally tuckered out. I was a bit tuckered out myself I must admit 😊
I'm off to the post office this morning and then Grognak and Ethera will be out causing chaos in Grant and my co-op BG3 session. Unless my grandson fancies a game from Uni, in which case we'll be doing that campaign instead.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning everyone. I'm up early early since the clocks have skipped forward. The parrots are also very confused by the change and Ziggy is sitting on my hand saying "It's okay" to herself over and over. Probably not helped by the fact that when I turned the tap on in the kitchen this morning it made an almighty squeal and then started leaking water. So now I need a plumber, on a Sunday and my regular guy (reasonably priced) is busy with lambing season on his farm 🥴
Ziggy has now started making laughing noises in between saying "It's okay". A parrot version of a nervous laugh I suppose 😊 To be fair, it was a shockingly loud squeal the tap made so early in the morning. Not a way I would have wanted to be woken up either. It hasn't stopped Toby from immediately tucking in to his breakfast mind you 😂
We had a lovely time playing co-op BG3 with my grandson yesterday, although the difference playing with a young one is marked by his hurry to get things done. Grant and I watch all the cut scenes, even if we have seen them before, while Connor just skips through them. Grant rolled a paladin this time and managed to break his oath within about ten minutes because Connor rushed us into a fight with some tieflings that he could have talked his way out of. Definitely interesting playing with a kiddo ☺️
Plans for today are to find a plumber and work on my crochet order. I may watch some more videos of people playing Stardew Valley too.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots today and have just settled down for a wee Ziggy cuddle after cleaning and feeding them all, in a bit of a rush as I woke up half an hour later than I should have, my internal clock all messed up after the non long lie yesterday.
Ziggy has started greeting me with kiss noises in the morning after I lift her cover, so I must be doing some right 😊 I always get a good night kiss every evening when I put the cover down too. I must find some black thread and fix her cover though. It has a couple of rips in it which means she peeks out when she's supposed to be sleeping, and being such a bossy boots she always has a comment or two when I'm trying to settle Jadie down, generally of the "C'mon!", hurry up variety 😂
It's co-op BG3 day , but we're starting a new campaign today because my eldest grandson is joining Grant and I. He's back from Uni after having a wee operation and is recovering at home, so I thought it would be a nice distraction for him. And to be fair, I am really excited to be playing with him too 😊
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning you lovely lot 💕 I am up with the parrots again this morning, but there is no work to rush into, do I can sit and have a leisurely cuddle with Ziggy while listening to Toby chomp away 😊
I'm glad to say there was no repeat of the toe tapping episode the other night, so it looks like it might be too many dried papaya treats that did it.
All my birds love those treats - they are like parrot crack cocaine if their reactions when you rattle the pack are anything to go by 😊 But he had about three or four that day and Eclectus are known to be sensitive to dried fruit - even without any sulphate as these are apparently. I'm glad it was an easy explanation though. Chasing down food intolerances is a painful process of elimination that I haven't had to do in a while. It's why his diet isn't very adventurous- I stick to the foods I know don't cause him any issues.
When he first came to us it took me a while to figure out that corn and strawberries both caused wing flipping and budgie seed - cited by Eclectus breeders as something they feed to their birds - caused awful toe tapping. They are very complex parrots for sure, and every one is different.
I have to go to the dentist this morning to have that wobbly molar pulled out. Not looking forward to that, but it needs to be done. Until then I am going to relax with some Stardew Valley and later , afterwards, it's back to crochet orders.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗

Good morning Fellow Travellers around the Sun ☀️ I'm up early with the parrots again today and still sitting with Ziggy, who is currently refusing to go in for her breakfast 🥴 This is probably because yesterday, after she had eaten, she started to sneeze and have liquid running out of her nares again, so we spent some time doing steam sessions to clear her airways and help her breathe. She was fine after that, but she has obviously remembered and now doesn't want to go in to her cage, but wants to sit with me instead. At some point the hunger will win out, but for the moment my attention wins 🙂
We have another vet appointment in two weeks time for more blood tests and hopefully some idea of how best to handle these ongoing episodes. I know that birds with heart issues are exercise intolerant and flying can exacerbate her breathing problems, but trying to get Ziggy not to fly is impossible. Just this morning she has flown around the room (she grabbed my phone and somehow turned the torch on which freaked her out) and back and forth from her cage to me at least four times. She's a bird, they fly 🤷🏻♀️
She has now gone in for breakfast, and is singing while eating, "Toot, toot toot!" No wonder she sneezes after eating, she talks with her mouth full all the time 😁
She has this new thing in the morning where she now acts like a gaffer while I'm cleaning their cages. She come down to the bottom of the cage, watches what I am doing and says "Uh huh!" a few times while walking back and forth, as though judging my work. When I spray the tray with disinfectant she helpfully says "Water!",and when I put new paper down yells "Paper!" just in case I wasn't paying attention 😂
Little bird. Huge personality ❣️
Plans for today are some Parrot Kitchen this morning and then crochet as I continue to work on the double order I'm busy with.
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to 🤗
