It's also foggy outside. I love the fog; it's my childhood reading spooky Victorian novels and that feeling that something ethereal is hiding in it just out of sight. It also means Summer is coming to an end, and as someone who prefers the cold, that makes me happy too 🙂

I'm currently sipping my first coffee of the day and contemplating moving as Toby keeps screeching at me and my poor ears can't take that awful noise before I'm even half awake! 🥴I'll give him another minute to see if he calms down and goes back to chewing his paper roll. Loves a paper roll does that boy. I order about four of those little rolls you see in tills about once a month.
Plans for today are more crochet work and watching stuff after some Parrot Kitchen. I started watching the new Charles Manson doccie on Netflix yesterday and will finish that. It's really interesting - a lot of new revelations I didn't know about.

Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌎 I'm up early with the parrots again today and having a wee cuddle with Ziggy in the cozy living room as the heating has just come on. I love that moment when it all heats up. It's so warm and comforting 😊 I so much prefer heating up than trying to cool down.
Ziggy is tucked up in my hand, her wee foot up at her head, grumbling away with contentment after a session of running around on the bottom of her cage while I was cleaning being my gaffer. All that hard work being a bossy boots has fairly tuckered her out! 😁
Warm, cozy cuddles. Perfect Saturday morning. 10/10. 👍
Plans for later are working on the latest crochet order. It would normally be BG3 day, but I was out all day yesterday so have to catch up again.

Red-rumped Parrots are pretty little birds. Their colours are a shimmering mix of blue, green, and yellow. So, why the name “red-rumped”? If you manage to see the male bird at the right angle, you’ll spot a patch of red between his wings, above his tail.
We don’t see Red-rumped Parrots in my area, on Australia’s east coast just north of Sydney. I saw these birds while on a recent trip westwards. Both sightings were on the Barrier Highway, a 1000-kilometre road that leads west from Nyngan to Broken Hill and beyond.
The first two were feeding on the grass at a rest stop between Wilcannia and Cobar. Here’s the female , followed by the male:
The second pair were at Nyngan Riverside Tourist Park, located in the town of Nyngan at the eastern end of the Barrier Highway.
Common name: Red-rumped Parrot

Good morning everyone ☀️ An early one for me as I am on parrot duty this morning. I am surreptitiously typing this as Ziggy has been adamant that I am not allowed to play with my phone - I have distracted her by allowing her to do a Maori tattoo routine on my neck 😁
I think a sparrowhawk, or something scary, may have come into the back garden yesterday afternoon; something freaked all of the parrots out anyway and caused Toby to fall off his perch again. It took closing the blinds and sitting with them for ages soothing them before they calmed down. Then we had three separate parcel deliveries (all but one parrot stuff I might add) and they *really* didn't like all that disruption! Still, it's amazing what a carefully timed piece of dried papaya can do to make things better 😂
We are off to the hospital for an early appointment shortly. They are going to check to see whether I need any more light treatment on my face. I hope not - as much as I am rocking my shiny new , unwrinkled skin, I'd rather not have it burned off yet again.
And we're off for lunch with Grant's Mum, Uncle and Aunt and Sister a bit later, which will be nice 😊

Good morning everyone ☀️ Long lie for me today. I've just had the raucus of excited parrots greetings and am now settling down with my first coffee of the morning while Grant continues to snooze on the couch and the parrots and I listen to some Classic FM. Well, most of us - Toby has just started screeching at me 🥴
After coffee and some Parrot Kitchen I plan to work on the crochet order that came in last weekend. It's an interesting one and I'm having to work out just how to do it, which means there is a bit of experimentation and pulling out work already done. It's all fun though 😊

Good morning everyone 🌻 I'm up early with the parrots again and just having a wee Ziggy cuddle before work. When I left the room to fetch fresh water after lifting their covers, both she and Jadie started laughing and stopped when I came back into the room - suspicious 🤔
Although Ziggy chases Jadie all the time, sometimes viciously, they do chat away to one another regularly. Food is a favourite topic, with Ziggy telling Jadie hers is "Good!,"while Jadie responds "Ooh!" 😊 I find it fascinating that they use human words they have learned to communicate with one another. I'm sure they use their own language too, but it's less frequent.
Another busy workday ahead with lots of plates spinning up there again so I'd better start getting Ziggy sorted for the morning.
