I've been using Mojeek a bit more but their index isn't large enough yet. The problem with the old names like you listed are they are, well, just names -- they rely on Google or Bing for search results (Bing is where DDG's enshittification is coming from)

With #DuckDuckGo being #enshittified, I just randomly decided to see if some ancient search engines are still alive. Sure enough, there are a few throwback engines still going strong.

#Lycos: Alive and well! I don't see much enshittification, it's clean.

#Dogpile: Also seems clean and functional

#Excite: Clean, but has ads in the results.
