Im only speculating, but I bet the tracks (almost all of which are more than 15 yrs old) I _can't_ re-download from Beatport are gone not because Beatport removed them, but rather because the label or artist pulled them.
Doesn't matter, I still have my original downloaded files, but the fact that 75% of my Beatport catalog over 15 yrs old is still available to me is pretty fucking good.
Anyways - #Beatport - #music download company that knows whats fucking what.

So I hear #beatport has a streaming service. Great, I haven't perused Beatport in a few years, tho I used to purchase a shit ton of EDM from them.
Hurh. This streaming service is only to integrate with DJ software. Well THAT sucks. I was expecting to be able to stream say the current Top 100 dubstep tracks instead of what you can in the track browser which is listen to a 30 second snippe of each one.
DISSAPOINTED.

well, it appears to have been doing this for a while but I only just noticed.
Previously I was purchasing songs in WAV and converting them.

So, #TheMidnight, a popular (read: genre-defining, seminal, prototypical) #synthwave group, is coming out with a new album, #Syndicate. Alas, all of the promotional material and singles for it, so far, have been either on their website (the LP) or on platforms that only offer streaming and/or DRM downloads, with the exception of #Qobuz and #BeatPort, which offer non-encumbered, DRM-free #FLAC downloads. So, that's where I got the track (Qobuz). It comes with a warning though:
>Certain works may be withdrawn from the service for legal reasons, such as a revocation of rights. The titles purchased will then no longer be available for re-download. Download your purchases quickly.
I originally heard about Qobuz and BeatPort after numerous people kept pestering them for making announcements through the #BandCamp platform while never actually putting anything on BandCamp. It turns out, their latest label doesn't allow them to put stuff on BandCamp. Thankfully, they were at least transparent about this (after much pestering):
