I lifted the mower up into the bed of babytruck and used a rope wrapped around the rollbar to tip the lawnmower up at an angle and then could just sit in a chair to see the damage.
I made two new holes and used stainless steel rounded head carriage bolts. To get them to fit snugly I used a tapered square file to make new holes on the loose part square so the carriage bolts heads would fit in, lock, and take up as little space as possible on the inside.

My brother also gave me a portable temporary “garage” he wasn’t using anymore and he and my sister helped set it up.
I had recently bought a used lawnmower and right after I started using it I was mowing what vaguely resembles lawn and hit something and the mower started making a horrible clacking/tapping noise.
I thought I had killed the motor!

England: Lawn Mower Championships: ‘Proper British fun’.
Dozens of speed demons are competing at the British Lawn Mower Championships in Chichester, southern England.
These mowers have been modified and have had their blades removed for optimal speed. They can reach an impressive 55mph (88km/h) at top speed.
While often seen as a fun motorsport, the racing is incredibly physical.

#SidequestSunday! Making a trailer hitch for the lawnmownster.
You can buy those, but they are made of cheese and have some weird hitch that only fits the matching cheese trailer and none of mine.
Getting to play with the new cold cut chop saw. It really doesn't like long flat cuts and you can't clamp the piece rotated when cutting mitres. The solution is to clamp it with a spacer so the workpiece ends up further out on the curved part of the blade.

Pros - Just as good a cut as a gas mower for the same product cost and much less energy cost. Significantly softer noise. A little easier to handle. And zero pollution.
Cons - Have to charge batteries in advance, a smidge less maneuverable, fears about plastic wheels.EGO Power LM2130SP 21" lawn mower.

My old mower used 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of gas to cut our lawn. In Biden-era pricing that was about $0.60 to $1.19 per cut. In Trump/Iran-era that's more like $1.09 to $2.19 per cut.The charger used about 500w of electricity (measured with a Sense device) for about an hour. At my local electricity rates, that's about $0.15-0.20 per cut.

Finances:
We paid about $650 for the combination mower and 2nd battery. It was a sale of about $250 off so I'm thinking they're going to discontinue this model soon for an upgrade. This is about what a new gas mower might cost, maybe a little less. They have more expensive models that are larger, designed for larger lawns, and have more features. -

The mowing took slightly longer than usual. Some of that might be getting used to the mower. We set the height as high as it would go and I might try 1/2" lower next time.It was lighter and easier to push, but harder to turn. Also, I worry that the plastic wheels (think Big Wheel back wheels) might wear out too easily.
The 7.5Ah battery was *almost* enough to finish in 60 minutes. I put in the 5Ah battery to finish. Swapping was easy.

It will go from 0.9mph to 3.1mph depending on the setting on a round switch in the center of the handle.I discovered the hard way that the self-propulsion is on whenever the battery is installed, even though the blade motor is off. I had undone the clips to push the handle down for storage and the mower leaped forward.

Mownster maintenance.
Too many sticks wedged in the various deck channels 😆
This thing has impressed me with how much it can handle. They are designed for a poncy lawn that gets aerated and fertilized, but it handles shredding small branches, chewing a path through a meadow, clearing an overgrown goat pen (minus the shrubs) and even driving up the really steep forest road, although only when its not too wet and slippery.
It also mowed steel, rocks, concrete chunks, molehills, bricks and small stumps hiding in the grass with nothing more than some dents in the blades.
The weak point is the collector chute which blocks up when the grass is too moist or thick or a twig gets stuck sideways. Can still mulch without collection then.

Looks good. I mowed until I got a blister today (from the knob I put on the steering wheel). Both patched tyres still full. Nice.
It was raining a lot lately so I couldn't mow and the grass grew into a dense jungle.
Plenty food for the compost, although I had to leave some as the mower chute kept clogging in the denser parts.
