"Organizers said more than 60 groups—including #ExtinctionRebellion, Friends of the Earth [#FOE], #Greenpeace, #AmnestyInternational U.K., #PalestineSolidarity Campaign, #WarOnWant, and #JustStopOil — took part in the March for Global Climate Justice. The demonstration took place amid yet another shambolic United Nations #ClimateChange Conference and as #Israeli forces continue a war on Gaza that U.N. experts this week called 'consistent with the characteristics of genocide.'
"More than two dozen associated #protests were held in cities and towns across #Britain and #Ireland, including #Dublin, #Edinburgh, #Manchester, and #Sheffield. Over 150 actions around the world are planned for what organizers are calling a #GlobalDayOfAction for Climate Justice on Saturday.

One is the beginning of a comprehensive, though uneven process of technological change that will eventually transform a large part of the world’s energy systems. In a commonplace, though misleading shorthand we refer to this as the “energy transition”. This “transition” is driven by policy, technology and economic impulses. It was originally fired by climate concerns, but has now taken on a life of its own under the slogan of green industrial policy or green energy geopolitics.
The second trend, no less undeniable, is the escalating environmental disaster and the fact that the energy transition that is now underway is nowhere near large, fast or focused enough to deliver what was was originally promised, i.e. comprehensive decarbonization and climate stabilization. [...]"

The "industrialized countries" owe the "developing countries (and themselves) USD 170,000 billion (170 trillion) in #ClimateReparations. This is why the world's bigges #polluter, the #USA, has been fighting tooth and nail to negate any financial responsibility for #ClimateChange if the #PolluterPaysPrinciple were implemented: -

The moral high ground is supporting Africa unconditionally, they are OWED #LossAndDamage #ClimateReparations
Demanding their support in a war a continent away while their own countries are being ravaged by consequences of western excess is indefensible.

Chevron’s climate plan involves ignoring 90% of its emissions and trying to offset the rest (with implausible technologies and inadequate - or actively harmful - approaches).
Atlassian’s climate guide claims that to make good on science-based climate pledges, companies (including them) need to reduce 90% of emissions and then (if necessary) offset the rest
