  1. The changes that are possible and actually happening when a president (Lula) understands his responsibility and the importance of the Amazon rainforest and lower CO2 emissions: Between 2022-2025 the deforestation in Brazil fell with more than 50% and the CO2 emissions saved in that periode equals the emissions of Spain and France altogether: 733.9 million tons of CO2 emissions (saved)

  2. Very Small Ocean Flyers

I’ve made a flyer out of what I’ve been sending out as postcards so that anyone can print them up and spread the word. Here is the text. You can download them as PNG images below or as PNGs or PDFs at https://verysmallocean.org/flyer.html :

In 2025, Solar & Clean Power met all demand growth while fossil electricity stayed flat.

Fossil exports in mid-2026 are paralyzed on 4 seas & in Russia, while China rolls out EVs (electric vehicles) & renewables at massive scales.

    Climate Victory is Possible

But Climate Change presents a less talked-about problem: the threat to Ocean Oxygen.

Seawater only contains 6-10 mg/kg of molecular oxygen, O2, compared to 210,000 mg/kg in the air.

This is not just about dead zones caused by fertilizer runoff. Oxygen only gets into The Ocean by surface mixing and the photosynthesis that happens in the top 200 meters where light reaches (mostly in shallower depths than that). The deep oceans must be replenished by the Global Thermohaline Circulation, the AMOC (Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation) portion of which is weakening. No one knows when it might collapse.

Also, warmer waters can hold less dissolved gases, of which O2 is one. About 91% of excess global heating from greenhouse gas emissions goes into the oceans.

99.8% of the oceans are 5.6 km or less deep. If the Earth were the size of a basketball, that would be about 1/5th the thickness of a sheet of copy paper. About 9% of it is continental shelf, 200 m or less deep. 80% of the atmosphere’s mass is in the troposphere, the lower 6 km (at the poles) to 18 km (in the tropics). The International Space Station (ISS) would be less than 8 mm elevation. — By [email protected]

The Global Thermohaline Circulation is the closest thing the planet has to a heartbeat/bloodstream. It circulates and balances heat in the atmosphere at the same time it is distributing oxygen throughout The Ocean’s depths.

You can print the below images on two sides of one sheet and cut them into 4 flyers per sheet.

  4. The fact that it's compatible with existing diesel engines makes HVO a really good fuel alternative that's set to improve air quality and reduce CO2 emissions.

It's already been tested on a diesel train without any problems. 🚉

  6. @fergabell We are driving #ecosystems to the brink with rising #methane and #CO2Emissions. We seem to have no elected leaders willing to lead so it is up to us citizens to push back and be the change we want to see.
