While I support this initiative – who doesn't want less pesticides, cleaner waterways, more nature – #WorldBeeDay is about all the other bees, whose numbers are plummeting hand in hand with habitat loss. Honeybees don't need saving; that would be like saying we have to save the birds and we start with the chicken.

"Keeping hives to save bees is like keeping chickens to save birds"

"The best way to help bees? Don’t become a beekeeper like I did - When I set up my honeybee hive, I had no idea I might be harming wild bee species. Now I’ve found better ways to encourage biodiversity"

quote "For decades, global warming has been framed as a steady climb — a gradual progression toward thresholds like 1.5°C and 2°C. That framing has shaped policy, public understanding, and the timelines embedded in international agreements. But the shape of this curve suggests something more disruptive. What we are now seeing is not a steady climb. It is an acceleration."
