Y'all know that I pay attention to cattle and agriculture #futures. You may remember me talking about how herds are at the lowest point in modern records, because drought. The American #beef supply chain is supplemented by imports. The #tariffs killed import prices, screwworm stopped cattle at the border, and thus...prices skyrocketed.
Prices for steer at set at the feed lot, because the feed lot tells you how many head go to slaughter. Prices are set at the beginning of the month. I tell you that because Trump just announced he's going to dump 300 TONS of ground beef on the market, but won't tell us where it's from. He did it timed to destroy September head prices, and it has. He has fucked ranchers good and hard and is putting tons of unregulated, unknown "meat" on the market.
In other news, the Trump administration has been rounding up wild #horses all over the country and selling them for #slaughter.
