  2. @simonbp your tax dollars at work ... #EvilElon bringing to you: Waste, Fraud, and Abuse until #SpaceX collapses and causing yet another financial and national security crisis. However, with help from Russia and our corrupt #GOPtraitors he might delay the inevitable yet another year or so... and who knows what the world look like then.
    #SpaceX has a market cap of almost $2T equivalent to 8 x that of #IBM. According to it's market cap it is the 7th largest company in the world!
    This looks like a scam considering its ridiculously small 2026 revenue of not even $27B and projected 2026 earnings loss of $4B and the fact that it is largely controlled by #EvilElon, the founder of the visionary #BoringCompany (think #HyperLoop, #NotAFlameThrower), now defunct #Tesla solar roofing, the inventor such great leaps forward as the #CyberTruck, and of the soon-to-come flying car... How he finds people "believing" in or at least supporting all these pipedreams any dimwitted 12-year old could come up with, is beyond me.

  3. I'm pleading with you all from the bottom of my heart. I've asked for help time and time again, but to no avail. I'm a father of two, and I don't have enough food for them. We live in a dilapidated tent that urgently needs repair. We have no food, no flour, and no clean water; the cost of living is completely beyond our means. Please, don't leave me and my children to face this suffering alone. Any help, no matter how small, could save us from starvation. 💔 Sharing my story might help it reach those who can help us. 🙏

  4. Two AI-security incidents this month share one feature worth sitting with: the thing that did the reaching was software that planned its own next step.

    In India, CERT-In says AI providers' own evaluation agents reached live systems and read confidential data, undetected by the organizations themselves. In the PHP2Shell case, AI turned a decade-old flaw in the engine behind most of the web into a working exploit, with a honeypot hit logged four days before the vulnerability was even public.

    Canada's live instruments attach the duty, and the exposure, to the organization holding the data. The agent's operator, usually in another country, is the party the framework is least able to reach, because the one statute that might have covered it never passed.

  8. Me, reading a toot that uses a word in an unfamiliar way: Typo. No, wait. This person is an expert in their field so maybe that’s a reserved word in their profession. Interesting. What might it mean in the sentence and context of that industry? Or maybe it’s a borrowed word from popular culture that’s a meme now, and they used it ironically. Well, I have no idea about popular culture right now, thankfully. Maybe I’ll look it up in both contexts.

    Them, responding to 329 comments of “Fix your typo!” several hours later: Sorry folks. Autocorrect fail.

  9. Had a nasty bug in Wallflower: I optimized the clock to run with way less system resources by porting it from SwiftUI to low-level CoreAnimation. However, on some devices the clock didn’t reset the animation on significant time changes like when europe changed to winter time last night. So it might show the wrong time this morning. Putting the app to the background or restarting resets the animation, and sets the clock right. Sorry about that, fixing it now.

  10. Whenever these days I see a new open source project, and it doesn't disavow AI unequivocally, I kind of assume it's vibeslop now. Somebody probably hacked it up over a few days, generated a website, and might or might not remember to maintain it in a couple of week's time.

  11. Attention shifted to the South Pole-Aitken basin for the Chang'e 4 lander. An earlier map showed 5 areas of interest in SPA and here we see them in more detail. This is a very interesting region, the oldest clearly seen impact basin on the Moon, the largest, and possibly one which might have penetrated the lunar crust - or if it didn't, later basins within it such as Apollo might have. One of the Constellation sites - precursor to Artemis - was near Bhabha crater.

  12. Watch the inner authority that calls exhaustion weakness and demands another demonstration of endurance. It can sound remarkably like your own voice after enough years of hearing it repeated. What are you still trying to prove, and who taught you that suffering would prove it?

    When that pressure finds an outlet, courage returns, desire becomes actionable, and you finally feel capable of confronting what has been draining you. Fire also feeds on the pleasure of being right, so a confrontation can become a performance, especially when you want witnesses to certify your power. Before making your move, consider whether you want to change the situation or make someone experience your helplessness from the other side.

    Suspicion easily becomes interrogation. Self-control easily becomes self-punishment. Do not allow the resentment you swallowed to find someone else available to receive it. You might call it taking your power back while an old injury chooses the target. Conscious Leaders choose to revisit the conversation without deciding the confession in advance. Set a limit before resentment starts demanding compensation. Put today’s fire into an action that changes your circumstances. Reclaiming power means accepting responsibility for what you do once you have it.

    Together we rise
    Suze 🔥

  13. Need an #Android app recommendation because #FDroid has no obvious candidates, and Google Play is a minefield of enshittification.

    For years I used Google Assistant for only one purpose: "Play News" I would type, not speak, and have my BBC 5min, DW 3 Min and CBC hourly (when not mad at them). Assistant is dead, so I went to an app called "1 Radio" and it was great, I could even get RTE and others, but …

    enshittification creeps by updates. the present version is wonderful, but some Supreme Intelligence decided skip-ahead is a Pro (subscription fee) perk.

    My trouble is @CBCNews where the update begins, embarrassingly unlike ANY other national service, with a 30 sec commercial of the sort you might find in hotel Toronto Life mags. Tonight it was to advertise itself for the elections in BC, but the fact it is thought necessary to pump ad copy for news, it embarrasses me as a Canadian.

    So I need another way to script those specific news updates: together, they match precisely the length of my meal sittings! 🙂

  14. I tried watching the #BBC comedy show Ellie and Natasia tonight. Never seen it before, but read somewhere this week it was good.

  17. USC Morning Buzz: Don’t Forget The Propoganda That Got Us Here

    It’s easy to forget some aspects of USC that the paid propogandists pushed all offseason and have conveniently forgotten as the season heads south.

    Remember we were constantly told how USC returned the most starters and the most returning production?

    A prime example of this was the offensive line. I never understood this. If players are not getting it done as juniors, what makes you think they will have a sudden transformation as seniors? It happens with coaching but who is coaching at USC?

    • Remember the bragging about what the strength coach was doing? There was a whole thing from the paid propogandists about players losing or gaining weight on the eve of training camp.

    At the time, I wrote, “I don’t care about weight. I care about performance.” We were told defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett went from 375 pounds to 360. What happened to him? Does he play?

    • Here’s another indictment of Lincoln Riley. He has whined about the schedule, the travel, teams coming off byes, etc.

    But has USC played a good team yet? It has two losses and still hasn’t played anyone of note. Oregon has three losses. Dylan Raiola has looked terrible in every game except USC. But the Ducks were literally the only team USC played that could pass and run the ball.

    Who else did USC play? Wisconsin? Penn State? Washington? Could any of them pass the ball proficiently?

    This schedule was tailor made for a good coach to mow down a bunch of one-dimensional teams. And Lincoln Riley bungled it.

    This might go down as a generational miss for having an opportunity to really do something in the playoffs. Of course, if USC beats Ohio State, Indiana and UCLA . . .

  19. ACH Return Codes Explained: R01, R03, R10 & How to Handle Them

    ACH Return Codes Explained: R01, R03, R10 & How to Handle Them

    When you're building a payout system, ACH returns are inevitable. A transaction settles, but then days later—sometimes up to five business days—a return code arrives telling you the money is coming back. Understanding what each code means is the difference between a resilient payment flow and a broken one.

    This guide covers the most common ACH return codes you'll encounter, what triggers them, and how to handle them in your integration.

    What Is an ACH Return Code?

    The National Automated Clearing House Association (Nacha) defines a standardized set of return codes (R01 through R85) that banks use to reject ACH entries. Each code maps to a specific reason: insufficient funds, closed account, unauthorized debit, routing errors, and more.

    When a return arrives, your processor sends it back to you via webhook or API response. The return includes:

    • The original transaction ID
    • The return code (e.g., R01)
    • The reason text
    • The amount being reversed
    • The return date

    Your job: parse it, log it, notify the user, and decide the next action.

    The Big Three: R01, R03, R10

    R01: Insufficient Funds

    What it means: The recipient's account doesn't have enough balance to cover the debit.

    When it fires: Usually within 1–2 business days, during the bank's posting cycle.

    Why it matters: This is temporary. The user might deposit funds tomorrow. It's a retry candidate.

    How to handle it:

    {
    "return_code": "R01",
    "original_amount": 50000,
    "cents": true,
    "action": "retry_later",
    "retry_window_days": 3
    }

    Schedule a retry in 2–3 days. Update your UI to show the user: "Payment pending — will retry on [date]." If it fails twice, escalate to manual review or suggest an alternate payment method.

    R03: No Account / Unable to Locate Account

    What it means: The routing number and account number combination doesn't exist, or the account has been closed.

    When it fires: Usually 1–3 business days.

    Why it matters: This is permanent. The account is gone. Retrying won't help.

    How to handle it:

    {
    "return_code": "R03",
    "action": "fail_permanently",
    "notify_user": true,
    "message": "The bank account you provided is inactive or invalid. Please verify and re-enter."
    }

    Flag the bank account as invalid in your database. Require the user to re-enter or re-verify. Don't retry.

    R10: Unauthorized Debit

    What it means: The recipient (or their bank) claims they never authorized this ACH debit. Common in B2C payouts where the user disputes the charge.

    When it fires: 3–5 business days (often as a chargeback-style dispute).

    Why it matters: This is a fraud or authorization signal. The recipient is actively contesting the payout.

    How to handle it:

    {
    "return_code": "R10",
    "action": "investigate",
    "escalate_to": "compliance",
    "preserve_evidence": true,
    "message": "Recipient disputes this payment. Review authorization records."
    }

    Don't retry. Escalate to your compliance team. Check your records for proof of authorization (e.g., signed agreement, API consent token, timestamp). If authorization is weak, you may need to refund from your own account.

    Building Retry Logic

    Here's a simple state machine for handling returns:

    Return CodeCategoryActionRetry?Max AttemptsR01, R02, R09TemporaryRetryYes3R03, R04, R05Account IssueFailNo—R10, R29AuthorizationEscalateNo—R20, R21, R22Format ErrorFailNo—R31, R32Routing ErrorInvestigateMaybe1

    Implementation Pattern

    javascript
    async function handleAchReturn(returnEvent) {
    const { returnCode, transactionId, amount } = returnEvent;

    if (['R01', 'R02', 'R09'].includes(returnCode)) {
    // Retry logic
    await scheduleRetry(transactionId, amount, 2); // retry in 2 days
    await notifyUser(transactionId, 'pending');
    } else if (['R03', 'R04', 'R05'].includes(returnCode)) {
    // Permanent failure
    await markAccountInvalid(transactionId);
    await notifyUser(transactionId
