Lumo AI by Proton - This is quite interesting! They use Cloudflare as a transport-layer proxy (similar to Cloudflare Spectrum). The claim is that this keeps things secure because TLS is not terminated at the edge. Well - yes and no. Cloudflare can still intercept all traffic at any time: they control the TCP stream, operate their own CA, and can silently swap TLS certificates or modify the JavaScript encryption code before it reaches your browser. The user would never notice. Very strong opening followed by inexplicably dropping its knight and queen in the middle game. At one point it even argued back after I told it one of the moves was illegal. Wrong but confident, not a very good combination of traits.

I played #chess against #LumoAI from #Proton. I had to correct if a few times when it was trying to make illegal moves but it wasn't too tedious. It was quite good in the opening from my point of view but didn't really have any middle game plan. It's definitely a fun exercise if you're wanting to improve your board visualisation.
