I was trying to set up #KeepassXC on a Windows machine via remote desktop. It didn't work. Installed the required Microsoft frameworks, tried the portable version... nada. Icon showed up on the task bar but no window appeared.
A search then revealed what was going on: You need to add a parameter to the KeepassXC launcher in your start menu! Otherwise a security feature is prohibiting screen capture of KeepassXC. Wow, I didn't know this capability existed! Cool feature. But very unintuitive.

Gelegentlich kann die Erzeugung einer Passphrase statt eines komplexen Passworts nützlich sein. In KeepassXC lassen sich dafür deutsche Wortlisten einbinden - die von diceware sind recht empfehlenswert

@bubbles It seems obvious to me that if there exists a recovery mechanism (whether that's "next of kin" or "my coworkers") then that's a weakness that can be exploited from within the company.
Still, I appreciated seeing somebody else that uses the #KeepassXC + #Syncthing pattern! I love it!

I have a reasonably large #bitwarden vault. Is there a way to keep my sanity migrating to #keepassxc? Not having to manually transfer stuff (I saw several migration tools saying they don't migrate TOTP, that's not nice) is a large prerequisite for keeping said sanity.

Boom, done.
It took less than an hour to completely replace #Bitwarden with @keepassxc on the desktop. Functionally a drop-in replacement.
It took just a few minutes to completely replace Bitwarden with @kunzisoft #KeePassDX, after syncing the vault across all my devices instantaneous with #Syncthing. A drop-in replacement in every way, right down to the fingerprint unlock.
Should have done it long ago. Sayonara, Greedheads!
