Radio station 91.7 KXT played Mississippi John Hurt’s “definitive” version of “Stack O Lee” which has been re-made many times (with versions named “Stagger Lee”, “Stagolee”, etc.) and led me down a rabbit hole to the cosmic horror novella “My Heart Struck Sorrow” by John Hornor Jacobs and now apparently I must find a copy of “A Lush and Seething Hell.”

But suddenly it seemed like a great time to identify my silverware pattern, which I'd forgotten the name of since it was first bought for me in 2006 or since I purchased it again in... the mid-2010s I guess?

In rabbit-holes I hadn't planned to go down today I had noticed that the RSS Feeds on the catchall site for the company had ceased to be.

I knew that the ones from Confluence had died because hey decided to impose template changes which while it didn't delete data it just made it useless.

I hadn't realised that the #FlipBoard one had also died until I came today to repair the damage and use the new mediawiki wiki that's replacing Confluence.

I want to get a group of non-geeks comfortable with using Cryogen.

So, I thought, how hard could it be to clone an existing open source Markdown editor, add a metadata tab, and create a simple forms-based editor for EDN?

But the good thing about #RabbitHoles are they lead you to new places. I started listening to #LuzmilaCarpio as I reviewed her discography, and I kept listening even after I thought it might be a dead end.

Her recordings are often very simple, with just an acoustic guitar, some percussion, and some other harp/stringed instrument. She sings with a very distinctive voice and is often accompanied by several other singers.

It was while listening to a self-titled release this morning that the tune of "Mariposita" floated up to my ears --- is this it, I thought?

I listened closer --- yes! The tune is from Carpio, indeed, but under a different name, "Pilpintu," which you can hear here:
