    I drove an EV for the first time at the weekend. Bit of an eye-opener! Easy to drive, nice clean interior (no stupid extra pedals or sticks or levers). It was "only" a Ford Puma, but it confirmed my suspicion - they are just better than petrol in every way, range and charging times be damned. I want one.     53 extra apps: 26 via Obtainium straight from developers, 19 via Aurora Store's anonymous login.

    Worked: Immich, Molly, KDE Connect, and over two days a charge. Didn't: Android Auto navigation, which demands a Play Store install and my Google login. No. Missing: open-source answers to Google Lens and Translate.

    So I ended up deciding to return the basic Kindle aluminium version not because I didn't like it, nor because it doesn’t have warm light. In the end I actually prefer that extra inch of the Paperwhite size and I really want the page-turn buttons cover.
