„The five were convicted of causing more than £200,000 in damage after targeting a #Barclays branch over its ties to Israel's #ElbitSystems. The judge said the damage, while significant, did not meet the threshold for terrorism-related sentencing.“

  2. So after suggesting that five Palestine Action protestors, convicted of criminal damage might be sentenced as terrorists (despite neither defendants nor jury being advised of this during the trial), it seems the judge has now had second thoughts... they will now just be sentenced for the 'crimes' they were actually convicted for.

The Q. is: does this represent a behind the scenes change of position by Andy Burnham's administration?

None of the eight defendants were on the factory premises when the raid happened.
But prosecutors used joint enterprise powers, normally reserved for gangland murders, to pursue them however tenuous their connections to the break-in.“

  4. "Judge Altham, the recorder of Preston, ruled on Friday that while the damage was substantial, it was not of the size of other attacks or against a sensitive property, such as an arms company, as has happened in previous Palestine Action incidents, and thus did not meet the high threshold for a terrorist sentencing."

So what makes it a 'terrorist act' is how much property damage your act cost...

  6. The UK government is re-defining "terrorism" as an action that goes against the wishes of the government. This apparently includes property damage. The worst part is that the judge can just decide that the charges warrant a connection to terrorism after the jury has made their decision.

What manner of justice is this?

  7. Despite the best efforts of the British security state, a modicum of justice has prevailed in the latest Palestine Action kangaroo court! The Zionist-aligned system is unlikely to take this setback lying down!

“JURY REFUSES TO CONVICT SEVEN PALESTINE ACTION ‘ORGANISERS’ FOR ISRAELI ARMS FACTORY RAID”

by Dania Akkad in Declassified UK

“Jurors in an eight-week trial of Palestine Action activists who allegedly planned a raid on an Israeli-owned arms factory were discharged on Wednesday.

It came after they told the court they had been unable to reach verdicts for seven of the defendants.

An eighth defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty of criminal damage by a majority of nine to one jurors”

For those not following UK news THAT closely, and because the word #Palestine does not appear in the post, this was a #PalestineAction case.

  10. "The group is accused of helping to organise an attack on a factory operated by Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit in Filton, Bristol, even though they were not present during the raid. All are accused of criminal damage; Plastow is also accused of violent disorder."

Comme le montre clairement ses excuses totalement creuses concernant Gaza, il n’apportera en aucune manière le changement radical dont le Parti travailliste a réellement besoin. Ce lundi [20 juillet 2026], l’ancien maire de Manchester, Andy
